About Public Disturbance

This is a fan page. I have no connections or contact to any of the band members.
Contributions such as flyers, photos, fanzine articles/reviews/bio's, live recordings, comment's, corrections etc. are more than welcome.
If you have a PD song you'd like to hear drop me a line and I'll try to put it up. The first 3 songs are pretty much a must but I will probably change song 4 from time to time.(maybe when we're not at war...ha-ha
There are about 20 other bands on myspace calling themselves Public Disturbance which in part prompted me to put up this page.
This is the original Public Disturbance from the Belmar area in coastal NJ from the early/mid 80's. They put out a 20 song LP & 3 song 7" in 1983 on Mutha records, opened for the Dead Kennedy's, Flipper & Bad Posture among many others & disbanded around 1984... Enjoy.

Darryl	Dec 17 2007 5:23 AM Hey All, This is Darryl Hell [aka Darryl Montgomery]. It's strange to hear this and think of the early punk days after all these years. I see so many docs about that time and very few depict the energy and intelligence of the time. Many would talk about the drunken behavior or the drama of the various scenes. But you are less likely to hear about the culture of people who were [and continue to be] inspired individuals. In my human rights work I've run into many people from that time. I've been creating experimental industrial music with my project Abstinence since 1985. I'm married now and live in Brooklyn. I work at chashama arts, nyc as technical director. Life has been an amazing trip and I loved [and LOVE] those days. Those days gave me the tools to be a social activist [aka "artivist"] I created sektor 6 kommunikations in 1989 and it [as well as my life] has evolved into something I could have only dreamed in my P.D. days. I just ran into Jimmy Gestapo [not sure of the spelling] of Murphy's Law at the Annual Mindswerve X-Mas Party. He reminded me that I'd met him before he joined Murphy's Law when we we're riding Russell's Ramp. I was the only bmx'er, followed my my team members, allowed to ride the "skaters-only" ramp. I'd love to hear from anyone out there if they know where Paul, John or Tom are. My friend Jenny S. mentioned she was in touch with Tom. I'll try to get his contact information.
