Formed in December 2007 under the name The Mugshots. The Band members saw a natural chemistry from the beginning. Members, Mychal Martinez of the band Amongst Skyscrapers (Drums), Adarsh Sekhar of the band Gandhi's Cookbook (Bass/Vox) and George Hughes (Guitar/Vox) had their first jam session, covering a couple of songs by Rancid and Choking Victim. The Mugshot's first gig taking place on the 14th of March 2008, didn't go completely according to plan, but it gave the guys a chance to connect and decide what direction we wanted to take as a band. In July 2008, the band then made a mutual decision for Adarsh Sekhar (a.k.a. Dash, The Dash) to switch to Guitar/Vox and George Hughes to move to Vox/Rhythm Guitar, and to temporarily enroll Bruno Salonen also of Amongst Skyscrapers on Bass.
Now under the name Public Refuse, and playing Hardcore Punk and Ska, we are looking forward to more gigs and giving some more punk to the Dubai scene. Public Refuse hit the studio on the 27th of December 2008 to record their Split Album with Gandhi's Cookbook entitled 'Under Construction' a reference to the Dubai music scene. The split EP is now available from Cesspool Distro [www.cesspooldistro.com] or at any Local Show.
Public Refuse introduced Humberto Boellert on bass, due to Bruno Salonen's inability to tour. Humberto played along side Public Refuse till he unfortunately had to leave to California to study. Public Refuse has since enrolled Adam Carrillo as Humberto's replacement.
