About me:
Public Space ONE is a performance and art space that opened in April 2008 in the basement of the Jefferson Building in downtown Iowa City. As the name implies, the goal is to have a public space for creative endeavors by anyone doing anything: music, visual/performance art, theater, literature, crafts, film/video, etc.
The gallery will be open every Tuesday from 4-7 and Saturday from 2-5 during the fall semester.
We've hosted performers like Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, the Tallest Man on Earth, Wye Oak, Paleo, Pomegranates, Crystal Stilts, AIDS Wolf, Woods, sBACH, Roommate, Grampall Jookabox, Denison Witmer, Sarah Johnson, Pwrfl Power, Johanna Kunin, El Olio Wolof, Laura Gibson, U.S. Girls, The Judy Green, Unicorn Basement, Kitten Forever, Bulbs, Suzannah Johannes, A Paper Cup Band, The Lonelyhearts, Caleb Engstrom, Band of Annuals, Caw Caw, Making Movies, Stress Ape, Wave and Particle, Birth Rites, Skye Carrasco, Cuticle, Glowing Glass, The Happy Chromosomes, Plague Winds, Coronation, and Monadnoc, as well as a variety of readings and portions of the 2008 Iowa City Documentary Film Festival.
Public Space ONE is located in downtown Iowa City at 129 E. Washington St, in the basement of the Jefferson Building, next to Subway.
