About me: Hockey fans Eddie Garcia and Doug Stolhand were frustrated with the lack of NHL coverage in the local and national media in the United States. Instead of bitching about the problem the boys decided to do something about it themselves. The rest is history.
Who I'd like to meet:
Day in the Life: Eddie Garcia
Alexander Ovechkin's amazing goal in the playoffs
Mike Ribeiro shows his stuff in the shootout in the NHL
Here is Nick Lindberg with some minor league shootout magic
Linus Omark with some international shootout action
Liked the day in the life video. Do you have rights to those game clips? lol.
Just wanted to drop a couple lines. Little correction to last Saturday's show (5/2)...David Ortiz and Yao Ming both speak English. Being from Boston, I've seen quite a few Ortiz interviews, and I just saw a press conference with Yao, I'm impressed with how far he's come. Don't know about Vlad though. Do agree though that it's great that hockey players learn English. I read something in SI about a couple of baseball players. They'd go to McDonalds every day and one would always order for the other bc he doesn't speak english, so the english speaking guy told him that he always orders a #1, next time just say that...which he did, then froze when asked what he wanted to drink. I thought that was a pretty good example of what you were talking about, I think they were Angels players, but don't know for sure.
Havn't caught you on the PS3 yet, Eddie. Seems like I'm gonna have to wait til the end of the playoffs.
Merry Christmas, guys! I hope your holidays are wonderful. Wish me luck that my Winter Classic Darren McCarty jersey gets here on Friday. Hope everything is great on your coast!
So Saturday we met Getzlaf and Sutherby. Fast forward one day later and I wake up to Sutherby traded to Dallas. That explains why he didn't look too thrilled to be there when he arrived. Good luck in Dallas Suth! Loved you in Anaheim!
You called it Doug! Brian Burke going to Toronto. Well he wanted media attention so he better come up with a good answer for "Why do you guys continue to suck?" Here's to hoping he takes his two thumbs up he gave Jiggy after the penalty shot in Game 5 and shoves them up his Maple ass! Hopefully my comment doesn't sour the family reunion with his grown children.
This is a little long, but I'm sick of this type of play Steve Avery & Steve Ott do to other NHL teams. It is pissing me off, one day some top player's career will end because of stuff like this. Hitting & fighting is good for the game but not the way Ott & Avery do it. I'm a little passionate about this I guess,...
I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of Steve Ott & Steve Avery with all their cheap shots they did in the Stars/Bruins game, but I like how the Bruins bonded as a team to say enough is enough!!!
This is why these nasty injuries are happening by having the instigator rule, you have punks like Ott & Avery who cause havoc but barely ever fight, kinda like Claude Lemeiux & Ulf Sammellson from the 90's.
I'm not one to advocate fighting like this, but I like how my Bruins gave a statement that they won't take hits like this anymore.
Remember, a cheap shot made Patrice Bergereon miss the whole season from the beginning of November until the end of the season in '07-08, so I really don't like these pests who are threat to the stars of the NHL. What if Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, or any other NHL super star gets a cheap shot career ending injury for the season he altering the player's way he plays the game??? That is not good for the league, this is what the instigator rule brings.
Anyway, here is video from Stars-B's game on Saturday when the Bruins stood up & were not gonna take it anymore. Granted they up by a few goals, but even the B's defend what they did on BostonBruins. com.
Eddie, I'll gladly take you as a mistress fan for liking the B's. As long as you root against the Montreal Scabs whenever possible & their diving antics. Bleed black & gold!!!
I'm really loving how awesome the northeast is becoming kinda of like the Northwest with closeness of the Bruins, Sabres, the diving Scabs, The surprising Leafs, and Sens if they wake up.
Welcome to the ranks (even if they are your #2 team) of Black & Gold!!!
Timmy Thomas gets back to back shutouts, & the Bruin Penalty Killing finally woke up, we were in the bottom of the NHL. Granted, they were only 1-0 wins, I'll take it, our offense has been great this year, just want Defense & PK to stay like this!!!
I gotta love my B's, though I love it even more when I'm a Vermont Catamounts fan (where Martin St. Louis & Timmy played college together all four years), that is where I grew up. If you think St. Louis is awesome in the NHL, you should have seen play NCAA hockey break Johnny LeClair's old UVM records.
Being B's fan I'm loving Milan Lucic more & more as every game goes by. Now if he can do this to a Montreal Scab,...
Wanted to share this quick conversation between my fiance Anjanette and myself (Jason) while listening to the podcast on the 29th in the car in reference to the goal horn played between periods:
Me:You know whos goal horn that is? Anj:Is it the Ducks? Me:Yep! Anj:Why don't they play the Kings goal horn? Me:Becuase no one knows what that sounds like.
Take that Eddie! As if you need another shot at the Kings!
