About Gustavo & Puente del Diablo
Touring the eastern continent of Asia to the southern U.S. Gustavo Scolieri and his band Puente del Diablo have emerged as world class performers, leaving all those who have encountered their performances captivated and inspired. Conceived in Spain and eventually formed in Canada, founding member, leadguitarist/songwriter Gustavo Scolieri, together with bassist Paul Cafareli, drummer/percussionist Massimo Campoli, rhythm guitarist Benjamin Barrile and rhythm guitarist/vocalist Joe Campoli are the musicians that make up the band. Combining the poetic fires of rumba flamenco passion, energizing dance beats and the soothing sounds of reggae, their highly anticipated debut full length recording "415", has already proven itself to be in high demand. Aside from their numerous television performances both local and national, the band has received much radio airplay across Canada and abroad. A festival favorite, Gustavo Scolieri & Puente del Diablo have received numerous awards in recognition of outstanding performances and achievements. They have also shared the stage with artist such as Latin recording artist Marc Anthony in which they received a favorable review. Totally unique and unlike anything to emerge from Canada's Latin music scene, PdD continue to entertain and captivate their audiences.

Puente del Diablo was conceived in Spain, around the place where the actual Devil's Bridge (hence the name Puente del Diablo) can be seen today. Having travelled there for an extended visit, Gustavo (band founder) rediscovered the wealth of guitar driven Latin music that had coloured his youth in Canada. Returing to Toronto, he decided to make a dramatic adjustment in the music he was playing and listening to, and thereafter drew a lot of momentum from the Spanish Flamenco guitarists and performers, notably Paco de Lucia and Tonino Baliardo of the Gipsy Kings.

Jorge P. Sousa Is On Vacation!

Jul 28 2007 7:49 PM

Hello Gustavo & Puente Del Diablo, I was vacationing in your great city from the states in 2005 and came across you guys at the Kew Beaches right around this time. I loved your music from the get go.

Every time I'm in T.O. and there's a festival going on, such as the one on Corso Italia or the beaches, I stick around to hear you play.

When I hear your music back home in the states, it brings back great memories of my time spent in Toronto.

Thanks for the add. And most importantly, thanks for the memories!

Jorge
