   About Pugwash Thomas
PUGWASH - TAKE ME AWAY *******************UPDATED PUGWASH INFO*********** PUGWASH follow up their most critically and commercially successful album 'Jollity' with their second '1969 Records' release entitled 'Eleven Modern Antiquities'. March 21st is the release date for what is possibly the most important Irish pop album release of the year. What we have is an amalgam of Thomas Walsh's songs and vision brought to the public ear by an orchestra of famed and highly respected musicians. Guests include Andy Partridge & Dave Gregory of XTC (Andy co-writes two tracks with Thomas), Neil Hannon of The Divine comedy, Michael Penn, Jason Falkner, The Section Quartet and Nelson Bragg of The Brian Wilson Band. Not only is that impressive but the band itself consist of the aforementioned Mr.Walsh with Keith Farrell (Mundy, Cathy Davey) and Johnny Boyle (The Frames). Gird up your loins for 2008's most required release!! If you cannot wait for the album you can get 'The Pugs' new single 'Take me away' which will be released on February 22nd. It will be available in physical format from the '1969 Records' shop as well as download which will be a unique mix exclusive to that format (Bunker mix). Watch out for a video for the track, which has already been A-Listed by 2FM amongst others, which will become available to view from the middle of February. And if you can't wait to see some Pug-action here's a unique fun home-made video which was put together by dear friend of the band Peter Fitzpatrick. It's for a cover the band (plus Neil Hannon) just recorded for a proposed b-side to the second single from 'Eleven modern antiquities'. It's 'The Idle Race' track 'On with the show' and we hope you love it!! Loads more to come, stay tuned.................. PUGWASH - ON WITH THE SHOW PUGWASH - IT'S NICE TO BE NICE PUGWASH - MONORAIL

Hey Thomas,

what have you been up to? Any upcoming gigs? Is 11 MA getting the praise it so deserves? The new Mudcrutch album aside it's still No.1 in my 2008 charts. Have you heard of Jim Noir's latest (selftitled)? Although it's kinda electronic the melodies and harmonies are all there. JL, Brian and Macca all in there. That guy is really talented.
Wishing you all the best for the upcoming actions!

Your friend,
Matt

Dear Thomas,

you were right. Dave Gregory's lead break in "Here" is really breathtaking! I can't stop listening to the track in all it's mastered glory. And I can relate to the line "Here ... I wish you were here" for I've lost my beloved brother Michael, not too long ago. THANK YOU! Don't ever stop doing what you do!

Best regards,
Matthias

Hiya mate.
It's just me mucking around with the colour balance, saturation, tint and so on. I don't really know how or why it works... it just does. It's magic. That's what it is. Magic and if I find out what it's all about it'll all disappear into the ether.

Got to get over to the Glebe soon mate. Have been travelling a bit for work but will try this week.

cheers

I LOVE the colours you're getting in these shots Peter. What's the effect? Reminds me of those bleached out colours they used on 60's album covers.....excellent.]

We, yer 'umble fans, await the impending release of '11 Modern Antiquities' with a tingle of pure pop excitement. It's going to be a whopper, a monster, a cracker, a belter and a complete kaboom. The rough mixes are STILL on my player!
Good on you, my man!

Great message in "Keep Movin' On", it's so uplifting and inspiring. The music of course is so catchy and upbeat, and contributes to the overall feeling of optimism in this song. I love all of your music, but I just felt like talking about this particular song tonight.
Wishing you a lovely week,
~Laurie

I WISH I could see you play next month but a round trip from Chicago to Dublin with hotel and plane tickets is at least $1,000. I need to find some wealthy friends who have that much cash to spare! PUGWASH rules. :~)
