Pull Yourself Together New issue of PYT zine out on Wednesday - featuring The Pains of Being Pure at Heart! Posted at 8:32 PM Nov 24 from Mobile view more
About me: Pull Yourself Together - A new indiepop fanzine and club night, based at Common in the Northern Quarter.
We play the kind of fun indiepop you don't get to hear often enough, along with pretty much anything else we fancy, the last Wednesday of the month at Common, Edge Street. We also put out a wee fanzine every other month which has so far featured the likes of Darren Hayman, Those Dancing Days, Emmy the Great and The Answering Machine
We also love having a stab at a live show, and have previously hosted Napoleon IIIrd, Little My, Sir Yes Sir, Jam on Bread, Allo Darlin' and Nat Johnson, along with upcoming gigs from The Loves, Pocketbooks, The Bobby McGee's, The Lovely Eggs, Pagan Wanderer Lu and Moustache of Insanity!
The zine (we're up to number 5 now!) is now available from the following reputable outlets: Common, Piccadilly Records, Vinyl Exchange, Night and Day, and Big Hands as well as being found further afield in Leeds (Jumbo), Preston (Action), Glasgow (Monorail), Cardiff (Spillers) and London (Rough Trade, PureGroove). If anywhere has run out, or you think we should fling some elsewhere, just give us a shout!
Call for proposals... "A Cheap Affair" Cheap are putting on their second art/craft/illustration/design/fashion/anything else creative fair at Islington Mill in Salford on Sunday 6th December and are looking for proposals for stalls now! We are not looking for massive intense essays, one side of a4 should suffice and half a dozen images to give an idea of what you (want to) do. We like things that look nice, we are all about aesthetics, accessibility and relevance. We also like people who have things to sell, we like products and we like consuming! These are not a must but it is up to you. Don't let it be a daunting task, we just want to get an idea of what you do and what you would do with your stall/space so all applications will be considered. Please send your proposals and any queries to: cheap-magazine@live.com Deadline: Sunday 8th November http://cheapzine.blogspot.com/
It seems a lot of people are leaving Myspace so I've set up a bunch of other music-based profiles... if you want to keep track of what I'm up to you can follow me or fan me or whatever it is those sites encourage. Come and say hi!
I'll still be here too of course, if this is your social networking venue of preference.
* we have 2 remixes up by dj_spleenbaby >> both of tracks from the as yet unreleased - read unfinished - cassette ep (it'll be out on shape when it is)
