The original band formed in January, 1968 included Peter Neri (guitar, vocals), Carl Donnell (lead vocals), Benet Segal (drums), Rich Bednarzyk (keyboards), Jeff Potter (harmonica) and Paul Rosano (bass).
A number of tracks were recorded in mid-to-late 1968 and '69 with the original members that were not included on the self-titled album of 1969.
Harvey Thurott joined Neri, Segal and Rosano for a second, short-lived version of the band (about six months). Their album was never released.

The biggest were the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, a much overlooked, highly influential band, possibly the best American band of the mid-to-late 1960s. Others were Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Traffic.
Pulse, the real Pulse not the band that released the single "Can-Can Girl" was together from about January, 1968 to December, 1970. One album was released at the end of the summer of 1969 on Poison Ring. Most of it had been recorded in 1967 and '68. Another album's worth of material was in the can. "Reach For The Sun" was the working title of the second album.
