Mainly bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine... Literally hundreds of bands have influenced our style, so it's hard to put a finger on just a few.
Formed in 2008, the current band line-up is a product of two garage bands, 7 Car Pile Up and Cheese on a Stick. The bands had been friends for a while and decided that a joint jam session with some of the members would be pretty intense. The result was PUMA, a mainly funk-metal style band with a jam band feel. Almost immediately, the band, consisting of Jim Hastings (Vocals), Alex Alvarez (Guitar), Bryan Szwec (Bass), and Cory Matousek (Drums), began avidly practicing and writing original material.
Currently, the band is looking for gigs after their introduction at the High School Rock-Off. While PUMA did not win the contest, they gained a lot of new fans and started talking to some of the bands about playing together. Keep looking out, because a show may be in the works.
