DJ PUMBA A.K.A. Alvaro Jesus Rincon grew up in the late 80's, his grand father was a director of a orchestral group in Mexico and his father a musician played in a local group. Dj Pumba grew up around music since the day he came into this world. He grew up around instruments all his life and began playing piano since he was 5 years old. In the beginning of Soft more year Pumba began having a passion for instrumentals and creating unique melodies that would captivate everyone’s attention. That same year, Dj Pumba met Big P at a high school talent show which big p was spitting a freestyle acapella and out of no where Pumba started beat boxing. they met and exchanged numbers. Inevitably, BIG P and DJ Pumba started working together and it was then that Pumba became BIG P's main producer. As both music partners and young independent business entrepreneurs; BIG P an DJ Pumba promoted their own label called "UTG Entertainment". The word UTG was an acronym for Untamed Gorillaz. They each attended separate schools, which allowed them to promote themselves in different locations at once. "It was the love for music that lead us to burning over 800 CDs over a period of about 6 months. We passed them out for free everywhere we went." Months later DjPumba started writing his own lyrics and became lyrical with the metaphors and punchlines.2 yrs after he learned about bars and the basics of lyrics he grew a passion for R&B, so he started doing R&B songs. At the age of 17, BIG P and DJ Pumba had the performance that got the Watsonville's attention once and for all. The venue was the Watsonville Mello Center which fit an estimated one thousand people. The place was sold out before showtime, leaving a huge line of people outside of the doors, hoping they could have came in. It was that night that BIG P & DJ Pumba performed their now-known hit single "Sometimes". The crowd reaction was extreme as "UTG" was being chanted when BIG P & DJ Pumba came out to the stage that night. Upon going up against 20 other talented acts, UTG came in first place. DjPumba has a similar style to big ps but with a R&B twist. He can produce about any kind of beat that is desired for that classic song that rappers and singers are looking for. Most of the songs he writes are based on his daily life or from past experiences. My goal in the music business is to make music that people can listen to and enjoy says DJ PUMBA… .Dj Pumba has produced for Scweez, Snowhite, BOMB-P Fam., Jermz, Sincere, Azziz ,Ghambit , Jonny Rockz, Cali-b, Rych Tycoon, Tank Tycoon, Freddy Mack Tha Pimp, Lights Out, Young Kcaz, Lasro, C-MONK and much more local artist. As from now, Only Time and patience is the only thing that waits for Untamed Gorillaz to go places, we waiting for that door to open...
