Punk Rock Flea Market returns to the Underground Events Center on December 5, 2009!
The PRFM is a full on flea market selling everything you can imagine, including records, clothing, furniture, computers, stereo equipment, housewares, haircuts, toys, videos, bicycles, tacos, falafels, vegan treats, skateboards, political propaganda, information from non profit groups, book stores, artists selling their work, bike repair, baby stuff, tarot readings & whatever else we can fit into the space. Don't let the name lead you to believe that we only welcome vendors selling punk records, clothes etc. The "Punk Rock" of the name refers as much to the DIY spirit of the event as it does to any particular music or lifestyle. 'Nuff said.
Spaces for the December 5th market are SOLD OUT! We are JAM PACKED with amazing vendors. Wanna get on the vendor's list for the next PRFM? Send an email to PRFleamarket@gmail.com.
The Punk Rock Flea Market space is generously loaned by the Low Income Housing Institute, aka. LIHI. LIHI is a non-profit organization that builds homes for homeless and low-income people all around the Puget Sound. Table fees and entry donations go toward paying insurance and advertising costs for this event. Once those expenses are covered, all additional proceeds will go to LIHI. You are most welcome to make additional donations to LIHI if you feel so inclined. More info about them at www.lihi.org.
The PRFM is put on by volunteers and amateurs, so you can help make it work by communicating your needs and by letting us know if we're missing something important. We want this event to be successful, and we want to keep doing it!
Who I'd like to meet: We look for creators and purveyors of secondhand and vintage clothing, housewares, used records, cds, videos, books, buttons, political propaganda, tote bags made of felt and feathers, cards and postcards, action figures, lampshades, belt buckles, bicycles, jewelry, comic books, video games and gaming systems, computer hardware, screenprinted t-shirts, art prints, buttons, baby clothes, leather goods, toys, smoking paraphernalia, and whatever else ya' got.
We particularly like folks who sell on-site services like massage and acupuncture, tailoring, tattoos, face painting, and haircuts.
If you are looking for an alternative to the Capital Hill Block Party or just want to see something different on Saturday night then we hope you’ll come down to the Nectar Lounge in Fremont. This is a fundraising benefit show for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Jerry’s Kids) and starts at 9pm. You can check out live recordings at www.uncledoodad.com.
thats right folks! Oblivious dolls latest installation... Miss O www.paynecreations.org carefully selected a group of SEattle performers, artist and socialites!
She photographed each subject in their enviroment, then stitched each one by hand into her own vision of these priceless beauties! Topped of by custom curio boxes for each set to reside in..
Miss O see's the world differently than most in which her dolls and films are the proof!
Miss O feels that these are by far her best work..(besides those mischievious Circus Contraption dolls), and has worked hardest on this project than any other.
Art will be displayed in the "Twin Peaks Lodge" located inside the Gainsbourg. Owner's JJ + Hannah have recreated a breathtaking, surreal recreation of a Lynch realm.....
Accompaning her doll/curio boxes are photgraphic images, darksided acrylic painted canvas and zines... also her short films will screen at 10p.m. followed by swampy ragtime blues genious "LONESOME SHACK"
A night like no other............... free of charge! (unless you purchase a piece of Oblivious Nations Creations)
