The Lace UP were born on 21st November 2002 from an idea of Smerci and Garu, who were infatuated with the melodies of the italian and californian punk (Green Day, Ramones, NOFX, Derozer, Moravagine), and thanks to their passions for, respectively, drums and bass, they decided to form their own band. Immediately Traico joins them at the voice. But still something was missing: the guitar. So Garu decides to engage Piazza. Finally the Lace UP were ready. In March 2003 Giacca, at the second guitar, joins them: he was the only one with a bit of experience. Unfortunately in September 2003 Piazza decides to leave the band, but the rest of the group wants to continue to play, so they tried to arrange the pieces composed till that time. In November 2003 there is the birth of the official website of the band -www.laceup.it-, and here you can find information about the group, as news, biography, discography, concerts and much more. In January 2004 the band takes part in Emergenza Rock Festival, reaching the semi-final but not the final just for a few votes: however, it was a great success, thanks to the three live concerts they could play. After one year and a half it..s the moment to record a demo tape, and that was made by the DigitAll Cube (Mancini Maurizio), obteing good results. The title will be ..Divieto di Sosta (dalle 20 alle 23).., 4 representative songs of the band. In summer 2004 Traico starts to play the guitar, so the Lace UP return to play again with two guitars. In the two following years the band plays a lot of concerts in the region, arriving then at the decision to record the new album. ..Coca&Rum..: 11 songs full of energy and pure punk-rock melody for 30-mad-minutes.

I Lace UP nascono il 21 novembre 2002 dall idea di Smerci e Garu che presi dalle melodie del punk italiano e californiano (Green Day, Ramones, NOFX, Derozer, Moravagine,) e dalla loro passione per, rispettivamente, batteria e basso, decidono di mettere su un gruppo tutto loro. Si aggiunge immediatamente alla voce il Traico, un amico di vecchia data di entrambi. Ma mancava ancora una cosa. la chitarra. E così che Garu decide di ingaggiare Piazza. Finalmente i Lace UP erano allopera. Fino a che nel marzo 2003 si aggiunge, alla seconda chitarra, Giacca, lunico con già un po di esperienza alle spalle. Purtroppo, però, nel settembre 2003 Piazza decide di lasciare il gruppo per motivi personali, è così che i restanti decidono di proseguire ugualmente con una sola chitarra arrangiando, ovviamente, i pezzi che erano stati scritti fino a quel momento. Nel novembre 2003 nasce il sito ufficiale della band allindirizzo www.laceup.it dove si possono trovare tutte le informazioni possibili immaginabili sulla band, tra le quali news, biografia, discografia, concerti e quantaltro. Nel gennaio 2004 il gruppo partecipa allEmergenza Rock Festival con successo, accedendo alle semi-finali e non raggiungendo la finale per una manciata di voti, ottenendo però un ottimo successo nei tre concerti dal vivo che il festival gli aveva permesso di fare. A un anno e mezzo circa dalla nascita, la band decide che è il momento di registrare una demo tape delle loro canzoni. Questo viene fatto presso la Digitall Cube di Mancini Maurizio con buoni risultati. Il titolo sarà Divieto di Sosta (Dalle 20 alle 23), 4 canzoni rappresentative della band. Nellestate 2004 si aggiunge alla chitarra il Traico. La formazione del gruppo ritorna quindi a 2 chitarre. Nei due anni successivi il gruppo si esibisce in una lunga serie di concerti nella regione, fino a giungere, due anni dopo, alla decisione di incidere il nuovo disco. Coca & Rum: 11 canzoni piene di carica e melodia punk-rock pura al 100% x una 30 minuti di vera follia.
