Punkt in London 20-22 November
After a successful Punkt 08 in Kristiansand, where Brian Eno and Jon Hassell were among the artists, Punkt visited London's Kings Place for 3 days of concerts and Live Remixes on 20-22 November. Artists were Jon Hassell and Maarifa Street, Sidsel Endresen, Arve Henriksen, Nils Petter Molvær, Eivind Aarset Trio w/Håkon Kornstad, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, BJ Cole, DJ Strangefruit, Nick Luscombe, visual contributions by Russell Mills.
The London visit was a great experience, and John L. Walters of The Guardian wrote the following: "One of the best moments came when Arve Henriksen (trumpet) and Erik Honoré (laptop) created a remix for a Punkt UK night at Kings Place. With gorgeous, saturated colour visuals by Russell Mills, the duo conjured up an equally beautiful and individual statement - it seemed like the music the venue was built for. (...) Henriksen's audience witnessed a cool, sustainable future: hi-tech yet deeply touching."
Now we'll take some time off to plan Punkt 09 in Kristiansand. The dates are 3-5 September 09, and further info will follow in mid June.
Punkt Live Remixes vol. 1: Sidsel Endresen/Jon Hassell
Jon Hassell's Live Remix of Merriwinkle's concert in 2005 (together with Audun Kleive and Bang/Honoré), and Sidsel Endresen's Live Remix of Sweet Billy Pilgrim in 2007 (together with Bang/Honoré) are now released on CD. Musician and visual artist Russell Mills has designed the cover, in collaboration with the Punkt "in-house designers" Alf Solbakken and Nina Birkeland. More info here..

Jan Bang: Musician, producer from Kristiansand, Norway. Main instruments: Live sampling, programming. Member of Jon Hassell Group, Arve Henriksen trio, duo project with Sidsel Endresen and trio with Nils Petter Molvær and DJ Strangefruit. Has played with a range of improvisational artists. Four Norwegian Grammys as producer.
Erik Honoré: Musician, producer, author from Kristiansand, lives in Oslo. Main instruments: Programming, synthesizers, studio tools. Produced albums by Velvet Belly, Elsewhere, Claudia Scott and others, in addition to the Punkt projects. Norwegian Grammy for Velvet Belly's "Lucia". Stage music for the Norwegian National Theatre and Riksteatret. Published 3 novels, most recently: "Kaprersanger" (Gyldendal 2005).
