Hank Garland, Frank Sinatra, Burlesque, Rockabilly! Rockabilly! Rockabilly! Low tech, high class Roots music.

Billy Dufois, aka "Punky Doofus" yeper it's pronounced "Doofus" as a matter of fact i come from a long line of Doofuseeees. I was born at Parksville Kentucky in the spring of 1923. When i was 5 years old we moved out to Springfield Oklahoma. As a child the dust bowel wasn't much fun but we managed, entertainment we created ourselves, i started playing guitar around age 9 and was duing a spot on a local radio show at age 14. I started out playing gospel numbers with a "rockabilly twist" i called it Jesusbilly on a count of my dear ole daddy used to scream. " Jesus Billy whats all that racket behind the outhouse". Which is where i used to practice. One might say my carear started out in the crapper. I continued to play semi professional untill 1942 when at the tender age of 19 i was drafted. The big un, WW2 was a reel eye opener for me i never nude the world was soooo big. i saw indoor plumping for the first time. I allways suspected people who shit inside their houses but i got used to it. I served in north Africa, Sicily, and off course France and Germany. I got my first Purple heart at the Battle of the bulge it wasn't no big deal. You see i was separated from my unit and it was some cold i was looking for and found a nice little house ocupied by 2 negro cooks from General Pattons staff. Their truck had broken down. We didn't have much to do other than eat and drink these boy's did have a couple of guitars, i do recall their names were Private Charles Berry and Private Marvin Gay. So i didn't have anything to play so i made a bass out of a old wooden wash tub. and we played and played. One night after a bit to much to drink i slipped and fell on my wash tub breaking it to pieces and getting a huge splinter in my ass. We were rescued the next day so it was no loss., but i did get a nasty infection which required hospitalization. General Patton was so happy to get his cooks back. He awarded me the Purple heart for that splinter and gave me a job as his driver. This was great untill the day i forgot to put the parking brake on and the car rolled over the General. Oh well it was no loss nobody liked the SOB anyway.
After the war i tryed different jobs and played in a few bands, i spent some time playing with Bill Haley. He kept looking at my ass which made me feel uncomfortable.so i moved on. In 1950 i returned to my home and reinlisted. I was promptly sent to Korea......

The war in Korea wasn't like WW2, it was no fun at all. It was in the suffering and total misery of a little known battle called the Sirloin tip that i made up my mind war was no fun. This time i was hurt bad, another Purple heart. They also gave me a Silver star, why? they said i killed hundreds of them, i didn't feel like i deserved a medal for it. I was sent State side to recover. This time felt different, no one seemed to care. I decided i would not be going back. With only 2 days before i had to return to duty. I came up with a plan. In my home town in Oklahoma, i was told by Daddy to head straight down to farmer Jims and to conjugate with the dirty whore down there thus making myself unfit for duty on a count of the clap. However the "dirty whore" turned out to be farmer Jim himself in a rubber suit. So i did the only thing left, i got stinking drunk and passed out in a ditch. I was woke up by bright lights and a group of cute little guys in SS uniforms looking just like those little people you see on Tee Vee. They told me that their leader had cut a deal with Truman in 1945. It turns out that Hitler got to go into luxurious exile courtesy of the C.I.A. in exchange for advanced technology. As my sorry drunk ass came back to life, there it was, a big shiny flying saucer. It seems they had been warping through time and space looking for a place called area 51. I did my best to help them find it, but they dumped me at exit 51 on the Vancouver island highway on a count that i smelled so bad. The year was 1996, at least i wouldn't have to go back to Korea. Exit 51 is the turn out to Coombs, my new home. People come from all over the world to see this place called the goats on the roof. Why just the other day i overheard two hoy tee toy tee old broads from a place called swallowcum, saying " we realy must do the goats on the roof" Too each their own, i prefer women.
