Interests

  • General

In general I'm a fairly ordinary person. I work full time outside of my home amd still manage to keep a fairly clean house (uh.. dust does not count).. I love my husband and my dog and my brother. I know how to cook, and by this I mean I can do something besides open a box and add water. A typical day for me begins at 3:30 am when the alarm goes off and it generally ends somewhere between 9 and 10 PM when I can settle down and finally go to bed.
  • Music

I've learned to work my iPod and spent my $20 card and got another one. The iPod is not loud enough in the car so I've learned to make a disc from my itunes list and I can play that in the cd player. My preferred music list would be from the 80's and prior (and I do mean prior.. I've been told I should have grown up during the 50's and 60's)and I like classic rock. Half the new crap you can't even understand now adays. I have a long commute so I do alot of news radio so I can hear the traffic. I usually have my husband's XM radio in my car too. That comedy channel makes nice for a long ride home.
  • Movies

OK-- my FAVORITE movie is JAWS. I pretty much know the dialogue. JAWS II is OK, JAWS III sucks. I actually have some other movies on my top list, The Great Escape, The Sons of Katie Elder, To Kill a Mocking Bird, The Birds... I'm hitting some of the classics here, but there are some of the newer ones I'd watch again. Sometimes I'll sit at watch a lifetime movie...problem is, once that channel is turned on, it's hard to leave it... unless it's one you've already seen. I like the kiddy movies... especially if they have to do with dogs...
  • Television

T: NCIS, Deadliest Catch, W: Criminal Minds TH: Lost, These are the shows that I try to make a point to watch. I make an attempt to keep up with a couple of the soaps, Y&R and GH.
  • Books

Author: James Patterson...(especially the Alex Cross series)...and Patricia Cornwell. Dog Stories..I have recently gotten it Jodi Piccoult. If you really want a good book to read, read "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Piccoult. I'm a slow reader, because I generally only read at night before bed, but it took me ONLY a week to finish this one. I could not put it down.
  • Heroes

Heroes.. well, I don't really have any heroes in my life anymore... any true heroes anyway... Specifically: My Mom and Dad-- the only 2 people in ones life that will TRULY GIVE YOU UNCONDITIONAL EVERYTHING... born within a month of each other... passed within 2 months of each other. I miss them both... A LOT!! Nobody knows what an empty feeling it is, unless they have lost one or both parents. Granted it's a difficult situation when you are close to anyone who passes away, but when your parents go.. no matter what your age, or you status in life... it's a very lonely feeling. You're nobodys little girl (in my case) anymore. I think probably the only thing worse that than would be to lose a child. So HEROES are the people that have passed thru your life... the folks that left a mark...the ones that are not there anymore who you will always remember... and sometimes there might be a someone you could call a Hero, someone that is still around..maybe.. ponder that...

About me:

I was born in WDC and I grew up in Kensington mainly, moved to Rockville in the middle of 11th grade. I am currently living in Bealeton, VA with Darrin, my husband of 11 years and our 5 year old puppy--Sierra--(aka- our daughter)-R U kidding... of course she's NOT a spoiled dog... Why do I have a my space account you ask..aren't you a bit old.. no actually I'm not. There really is no reason in particular that I created it, just because everyone else was doing it.. so why not.. I actually thought about deleting it but I opted against that because this is a source of entertainment so to speak and aggrivation... I'm way to nosey to delete it now.. I Work for the Government.. just started my 19 year.. (12 more to go til the earliest retirement date), but who's counting. I'm NOT a clean freak but I am anal about my kitchen being kept clean.. I can't stand when shit is laying aorund all over the place. I can't stand dishes in the sink or the trash can to stink.. so it really really pisses me off when I forget and put something in there and don't empty it and come home from work the next day to the stench. Oh and I vacumn all the time.. I've been told to just tie the vacumn to my hip. But I look at it like this.. I'd never feel the need to crawl under a rock if anyone stopped by unexpectedly... I'm fairly decent at knowing when I'm being fed a line or 2 of BS, and I've learned to not always admit that I know it. I'm just BITCH enough to let you roll around long enough that there's no way to get out. I tend to over evaluate things that I probably shouldn't and tend to speak before thinking. I have said some things in the past to people that I regret mentioning, but oh well, live and learn. Sometimes it's worth a shit and sometimes it's not. problem is, i get those times confused. I have trust issues.. I've said things in the past, and I guess it's my fault for assuming that they would stay between me and the person I told.. I guess the thing now a days is that you must state, please keep this between us.. which doesn't really work either, because, you know that they tell, but tell who they tell, don't say anything.. but inevidably that someone slips up, makes a comment.. or just plain forgets... and you figure it out.. that's why if there's something you want kept quiet, you just don't say anything.
