Puppy Vs. Dyslexia maybe a "percussive noise army" from Bloomington,IN but it hasn't always been that way...
The activity known as Puppy Vs. Dyslexia began in 1996 as a teenaged, bedroom based recording duo in a depressed Kentucky rivertown.Armed with diet pills, typewriters, and low budget recording gear they produced a quantity of mangled, noise artifacts of bizarre midwestern folklore.Ten years later the duo is a foursome and the place is Bloomington,Indiana. The time in between has added two new members and a completly different arrangement.
In these times PvsD involves a great deal of unpredictability in it's form of output.Live and recorded performances can swing quickly from 2 drummer wrung out psych-rock jams.to improvised electronic drones.to 4 drummer world music-meets-Black Sabbath stuff.to noise dance party throw up.to swirling gates of atonal guitar-quartet-ness. Still while covering so much ground.PvsD manages to hold onto the original string from it's cap-sized birth. The same flow of hyperactive,non-linear energy can be found in an unspoken state at the core of all this action.
Other past and present projects members have been involved with: the Ground-Ups,DJ Sonyplaystation,DKG Sleep Trio,Spasm Lake,John Wilkes Booze,Mosaic Fog,Bread Fangs,My Village is ..1,Hepatitis B-Youth,xeromem,Dark Lion,the Mean-agers,and many more/TBA/other
I know the band no longer exists, but this was the only way I could think of getting the word out to John Dawson and djplaystation that Adeptive radiation will be playing at Rachael's Cafe tonight in Bloomington.
If you can make it to the Rock Lobster this Thursday night, we've got a KILLER line-up and there's going to be a production company filming it. We want to pack the place with local artists and fans of the underground... sort of a communion of like-minded souls. See and meet people in bands you've always liked, meet new people you never knew existed, if you're in a band bring any kind of free promo you want (cards, fliers, free CDs, whatever).... it's like an underground rock conference with live music and fermented beverages. Pass this info on to anyone and everyone that might be interested.
Thursday Nov 15th Rock Lobster (21+) 814 Broad Ripple Ave Indianapolis Doors at 8pm, Music at 9pm.
