Mariah Carey Sings "Hero"
This is one of two songs that motivated and empowered me during the time I had become a mountain of human flesh at 350 lbs., and, had spent 7 yrs. in a wheelchair; caused by depression, loneliness and a declining marriage. I chose to "medicate" myself with food--lots of fattening food! I began outpatient physical therapy in October 1995 with Mississippi Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Flowood. By the time I ended, I was "well on my way" to reaching 205 lbs.; again, driving a hand-control operated car; and even walking 3 miles with my heavy steel and leather braces, orthopedic shoes, and crutches!
