We could be in your ipod/CD shelf with Massive Attack, Lamb, Portishead, Sneaker Pimps, Radiohead, Bjork, Tricky, Natalie Walker, you get the picture...(and hopefully the sound!)
Puracane began as a duo in 1999. British-born vocalist Ali Rogers and producer David Biegel co-wrote the album 'Things you should leave alone', released by Ubiquity records in 2000.
Ali Rogers decided to take the project from the studio to a live act and in 2000 Puracane played shows with Sting and Duran Duran and in 2001 with Jane's Addiction and Depeche Mode. Puracane's music is featured in the film Driven (Sly Stallone) and the TV shows Smallville, Felicity, Las Vegas, Road Rules, Real World and Making The Band.
Today, Puracane are Ali Rogers on vocals, Juan Masotta on guitar and electronics, Drew Thurlow on bass and Andrew Griffiths on drums
The band just released a new album: 'In Limbo', a collection of songs composed and produced by several satellite members over the last few years. "In Limbo" is now available at www.puracane.com, itunes, CDbaby, Amazon.com and other major music retailers.

Hey Ali(neighbor), My feature length documentary,"Begging Naked", will screen Wednesday January 16th 6pm @ Anthology Film Archives(2nd&2nd) as part of their New Filmmakers Series. It is about the extraordinary life of Elise Hill, an exceptional artist who has endured in a city that would prefer she didn't exist. Also, Elise and I were best friends years before events in her life began to unravel and taping began. I shot most of the 10 years of footage alone, received a Ford Foundation grant,a NYSCA grant and the film is currently receiving attention(and has won a few awards) at film festivals. Thanks and I hope you can make it to the screening and/or spread the word about "Begging Naked". Best, Karen
