Purebred-Lloyd Irvin Jiu Jitsu/Submission Academy has been providing quality instruction to Guam since 1997. Our mission is to create an atmoshphere of self-discovery and personal growth, which increases physical fitness and self-defense skill, encourages the foundation of high personal standards, and empowers our students with control over self (body, mind and spirit) thus enbling them to live a happier and more successful life. We place a strong emphasis on teaching discipline and respect to kids, without restricting their personal development. We also help adults to relieve stress while developing thier self defense skills and physical fitness. We offer a complete Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instruction program that incorporates excellent technique, live sparring, competition training and fitness. Although our classes are intense and utilize a vigorous exercise program, our instructors recognize that each student is an individual with unique goals and progresses at his or her own level according to that student’s athletic and martial arts background and level of fitness. With real confrontations being won again and again, Bjj has proven itself as the most effective form of self defense in the world. It is now the basis of mixed martial arts or MMA tournaments and has a large sport competition following. Law enforcement and the military use BJJ as their main self-defensive system forhand-to-hand combat. BJJ has something for everyone from the competitive athlete to the weekend warrior.
