*************Jason Johnson plays delta slide guitar like the Hill Country greats. And with his Barritone Voice, you would think you were back in the Mississippi Delta. Left with his departed fathers guitars & amp, he is taking it where his dad left off ~ leaving the crowd speachless!
**************Papa Soul is a local legend. He plays the Washboard like no other! With his Blues & Gospel background, lightning fast strokes with his brushes and the thunderous boom from the 28" Bass Drum, he will have you "Delta Stomping" in pure bilss!
Very sad to see the news that Papa Soul has passed. We had the pleasure of meeting him and Walker T at a RDBS gig about a year ago. A great person in every way. Our condolences to family and friends. Soul'D Out
I miss you Papa, Ive never had such a good time playing music with anyone else. I just cant believe what happened. Its a huge loss to the community. Papa was a friend to many, and an amazing Father and Husband. I admired him, he was such a good friend to me in the time that we knew each other.

Papa will be missed for so many things....his love for life, his great music ...his amazing food... the love for his family and friends ...and the great love he showed to all of us that knew him. It was a blessing to know a person with so much joy. He will be greatly missed.
Hey, I found one of the Missus' cherry earrings on the floor at John Henry's. gave it to your partner to pass on! amazing that i found both pieces in that joint!

Papa Soul and 100 % Pure Delta Stomp kicked some serious butt last night at The Eugene Celebration with their version of Big Mama's Door, and Skinny Woman. Sassparilla even was overheard saying you were a hard act to follow. Good times gents!
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
