October 2009 sees the release of 'Sharpen Up The Knives' the brand new studio album. The album consists of a selection of their favourite tracks alongside some brand new recordings.
James Mudriczki's voice has attracted the support of US folk icon Judy Collins. She chose James to feature on her current tribute album 'Born To The Breed' alongside the world's finest singers, including: Leonard Cohen, Dolly Parton, Joan Baez, Chrissie Hynde and Rufus Wainwright.
The band were special guests of electro icons Depeche Mode at their infamous Terra Vibe Park sell out stadium gig in Athens on May 12th 2009.
Just like their music releases and associated promotion, this is an independent event organised by the band and their management. Surviving nearly two decades and seeing off countless imitators and movements, Puressence have achieved this through great songs, engaging live shows and an ever increasing loyal fanbase.
October will see a new album from the band with an accompanying UK tour alongside some headline outdoor Greek shows where the band occupied the country's national airwaves throughout 2008 with their number 1 track 'Don't Know Any Better.'
Puressence also play their biggest UK headline show to date on Saturday 14th November at Manchester Apollo Theatre.

Hi Fella's!! Thanks for a great gig on Sat and a huge thanks for letting us borrow you gear!! You sounded fantastic and look forward to seeing you again soon!!
Thanks for a fantastic gig in Birmingham on 5th November. Thank you for doing "All I Want" live at last (which I suggested you do to Jim after a Nottingham gig two years ago!). It sounded truly wonderful and is one your greatest songs. The new material was also up to usual high standards, however "Make Time" sounded a little thin without the usual samples, if I'm completely honest. Despite that minor criticism, in terms of vibes, atmosphere and overall performance it was probably the best Puressence gig I've been to yet. You guys never, ever disappoint, and I'm confident you never will. What I can't work out, though, is how come you still have less than 8,000 MySpace fans?!?! Great set by support act Sea Fields too. They deserve to go far.
