Originally from St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia, the brother and sister duo made their move to Hamilton, Ontario after forming Purl of Surf in the spring of 2006.
During the summer of 2007, the band was determined to bring their music home to the East Coast and set off on their first tour. The result was a thrilling adventure and many warm receptions along the way. You will find a couple of recordings here that were recorded on tour: Should I Try (The Lougheed, Harvey, New Brunswick) and Bite (Dooley’s, Grand Falls, New Brunswick). All other songs, with the exception of Still (recorded by Ken Platt; Hamilton, Ontario), have been recorded at home by Purl of Surf.
If you are ever in Harvey, New Brunswick, check the walls of the Lougheed Pub and you will find Purl’s signed event poster hanging among those of many great artists who have played the venue (Cheers, Randy! We’re honoured).
Meghan, It'd definitely be a living room, unplugged, and, with luck, a good crowd there to listen, engage, and be attentive. Keep in touch. Regards, Joshua
Thanks for the love bro. Things are getting better now. We seem to be getting used to this 3-piece band thing again, ready to gig again in the spring. Finally have some fresh stuff to show, although noone uses myspace anymore, so I think this is a lost cause but, oh well. How are things with you guys?
Hey there. Still and Should i Try are the best two. Great work and yes, if the future holds any shows for us(we are currently making cd) then sure thing. Thanks for checking us out. Cheers
That is kind of funny, and oh heck yes I want a CD!!! OMG! No way, they're multi-coloured??? (I like orange, but I'm easily satisfied so it doesn't really matter what colour I get.) We will so definately be talking more about that soon!
You guys were awsome last night! that was alot of fun but not so much fun when I had to get up this morning for work...would you believe we came home and tried to start the bbq lol
