Le influenze musicali di Purple Gang sono molteplici e dipendono dai singoli componenti del gruppo, dal gypsy jazz, al blues nero; dal flamenco alla bossa. Un vastissimo panorama di suoni ed influenze storico/musicali che si fondono insieme per dare vita ad alla nostra musica dove ogniuno è tenuto in primo piano.

Purple Gang, formata nella primavera del 2006, vuole proporre lo stile della musica gypsy jazz, uno straordinario genere musicale che ebbe il suo massimo splendore durante gli anni '30 soprattutto in Francia, quando il genio del grande chitarrista Django Reinhardt generò un nuovo sound che conteneva tutta l'intensità della musica gitana e il fascino del jazz. L'incalzante sezione ritmica costituita da chitarra e contrabbasso, le melodie raffinate, i numerosi episodi virtuosistici, costituiscono alcuni degli elementi di questa musica, che continua a essere riproposta pressoché immutata e che ancora oggi esercita il suo perdurante fascino.
Il giovane gruppo può già vantare un repertorio molto vasto che comprende naturalmente alcuni brani del maestro e capofila Django Reinhardt, diversi standard della tradizione jazzistica, ed una serie di composizioni originali; ha anche preso in prestito alcune melodie della tradizione cubana e spagnola. Lo spettacolo musicale proposto da Purple Gang è aperto ad un pubblico eterogeneo, una musica per tutti che racconta l'amore di un passato che non ha mai perso il suo dinamismo e la sua ricchezza...
Purple Gang, formed in the spring of 2006, bring the style of Gypsy Jazz music, an extraordinary musical genre that reached its peak during the'30s, particularly in France, where the genius of the great guitarist Django Reinhardt generated a new sound containing all the intensity of Gypsy music and the charm of jazz. The driving rhythm section consisting of guitar and doublebass, refined melodies, numerous virtuoso episodes constitute some of the elements of this music, which continues to be repeated almost unchanged and still carries its enduring charm. This young band can already boast a vast repertoire that includes clearly some of the Master and forerunner Django Reinhardt, songs in the standard jazz tradition, and a series of original compositions. Purple Gang has also kept some tunes in the Cuban and Spanish tradition. Purple Gang, formé au printemps 2006, pratique le Gipsy Jazz, un genre musical extraordinaire qui a atteint son pic de popularité au cours des années 30, particulièrement en France où le génie du grand guitariste Django Reinhardt a produit un son nouveau alliant l'intensité de la musique gipsy au charme du jazz. La section rythmique, composée de la guitare et de la contrebasse, les mélodies raffinées et de nombreux traits virtuoses constituent les principaux ingrédients de cette musique qui continue d'être jouée presque à l'identique et dégage toujours un charme inusable. Notre jeune groupe explore un répertoire vaste qui revendique clairement celui du Maître et précurseur Django Reinhardt, auquel s'ajoutent des chansons dans la pure tradition des standards de jazz ainsi qu'une série de compositions originales. Purple Gang a également emprunté quelques mélodies à la tradition cubaine et espagnole. Django Reinhardt einen neuen Sound verbreitete, der die Intensität der Zigeunermusik und den Charm des Jazz in sich vereinte. Die treibende Rhytmusgruppe, aus Gitarre und Bass bestehend, feine Melodien und zahlreiche virtuose Episoden machen die Elemente dieser Musik aus, die fast unverändert wieder aufgeführt wird und noch immer ihren unsterblichen Charm hat.
Diese junge Band kann bereits ein breites Repertoire aufweisen, das selbst verständlich auch einige Stücke des Meisters und Pioniers Django Reinhardt in der traditionellen Jazzformation einschließt sowie auch viele eigene Kompositionen. Purple Gang hat auch einige kubanische und spanische traditionelle Stücke im Repertoire. Das musikalische Spektrum von Purple Gang ist weit und spricht ein breites Publikum an. Eine Musik für Jeden, die die Begeisterung für die alte Zigeunermusik und den Jazz vermittelt und nie ihren Charm, ihre Dynamik und ihren musikalischen Reichtum verloren hat.
