PRAISE FOR
RHYMES WITH PURPLE
PRODUCTIONS
“This is an extremely talented, local company. One to look out for.”
Edinburgh Guide 2005
"Rhymes with Purple are starting to find their voice via a form of magical realist cabaret theatre that's both sentimental and serious in its obvious love affair with the business of show, where making a song and dance of things is only half the story."
The Herald
“A great concept…laden with pop references and approached in a fun and modern way…well acted and personable…flamboyant, diverting and frequently chaotic.”
Three Weeks Magazine
“Louise Oliver has undoubted talent as a writer and it will be interesting to follow her progress”
One4Review.com
A Work in Progress was listed in The Sunday Times as Critics Choice.
“An evening of unashamed fun with Rhymes with Purple… lively, enthusiastic in the extreme and met with a brilliant reception… a great success.”
www.rockyscot.co.uk
“A promising and still relatively new company with a penchant for comedy”
The List
“It's good to see a young, shoestring company delving into the more neglected corners of the Scottish repertoire”.

Rhymes with Purple Productions is a Glasgow based theatre company which formed in 2004 with the intention of creating thought provoking theatre with a fun and playful edge.
Dissatisfied and disillusioned with the contemporary theatre industry, Rhymes with Purple Productions was formed to produce work for Scottish artists that left Scottish audiences feeling entertained again. With the intention to develop forms of theatre that entertain and delight today’s audiences rather than distancing them, Rhymes with Purple want to bring people back into the theatre and prove to them it’s a far more fulfilling way to spend an evening than sitting in front of the T.V.
As a new writing company which also stages classic texts with a contemporary twist, the company directors are committed to pushing the envelope for Scottish arts & culture whilst supporting promising young Scottish talent of which there is a massive untapped source. Rhymes with Purple plan to create artistic links with international theatrical practitioners and create awareness of Scottish theatre and arts across the globe.

Rhymes with Purple also maintain a active role in cabaret and variety entertainment and run regular sell-out cabaret and comedy nights across central Scotland and manage the Glasgow branch of worldwide art/cabaret phenomenon Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School at The Arches.
In order to continue producing diverse and ambitious work, we need support. There is limited funding for the arts in Scotland and although we work tirelessly to raise money for each project, it is still not enough. We need your help.
If you or your company are passionate about the arts and want to help a young, developing company through direct funding, sponsorship, investment or negotiable assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.
