The Panther Girls
Purr’s fabulous in-house dance-troupe will be throwing some dance-floor shapes. The Panthergirls dance to punk and glam and 60s girl groups and bang-up-to-date modern music and whatever they want to! They’ve danced with Los Campesinos! Friends Of The Bride, The Hot Puppies, Crystal Castles, Help She Can’t Swim, Tiny Master Of Today and many more. They’ve appeared in Bath, Bristol, London, Cardiff, Margham Deer Park and on tables in Paris. They are the fabulous Panther Girls and have moves too myriad to put into words. Be warned, they’ve got claws as well as ears!
“Those glamorous, naughty all-dancing Panthergirls.” – The Guardian
"The Panther Girls twirl, shimmy and kick their way through cute ‘n’ kitschy dance routines." - Kitten Painting
“Synchronised moves come from the Panthergirls, the uber-glam in-house dance troupe at Bath's Purr night.” – The Guardian
"A kind of cross between Pan’s People, the Radio City Rockettes and a cheerleading squad entertain us dancing about, cat-ears waving, to cool tunes, including, thanks to Panther girl choreographer and Purrista Delia, a great dancing track from the previously unknown Frank Popp Ensemble." Charleyspace.com
"I’m convinced Purr is one of the best clubs going! Two words: “Panther Girls” rrrrrooooaaar!" - from Piney Girs diary
“They've got tails, they've got attitude - and they've got the moves to make any party go with a swing” –Bath Chronicle

10pm-2am (£4 or £3 before 11pm) upstairs @The Hatchet in Bristol.
Hello! We are delighted to have been sniffed out as a 'hidden gem' by Bristol Uploaded & would like to invite you to come down & join us at the Thekla next Weds 25th June.
Great to see you all at Dot To Dot on Sunday. How was Metronomy? Demon Claws were good but the sound was awful. They'll be back though and I'd recommend seeing them.

Electro-rock crossover experts, OST are a 4 young musicians creating a live and organic form of dance/ electronica music. Now based full time in Birmingham, they are busy writing, gigging and recording for a spring/summer album release and tour..... OST Bristol based BULLWHIP sound a bit like a mix of their former bands and maybe Fugazi, Jesus Lizard, Shellac, Minute Men. But maybe not! Bullwhip THE COLOR OF THE SUN. New experimental pop project of Bristol-based californian songwriter Aron Ward blending complex arrangements with genre busting technology. For fans of TOMLAB , ANIMAL COLLECTIVE TCOTS

TUES 13TH MAY - MARVIN & THE COLOR OF THE SUN @ THE MOTHER'S RUIN
Marvin are Emilie, Fred and Greg, a guitar-drums-keyboards three piece from Montpellier, France. Marvin like to have fun, and want you to have some too. Eschewing the pretence and po-facedness that so often seems to come as part of the territory of DIY music, Marvin make blistering, noisy and truly joyful pop. Pounding drums and walloping riffs are offset by quirky, catchy analogue synth melodies, the result being something akin to a heavier Devo, the poppiest moments of Lightning Bolt or the tight, proggy silliness of Oxes or Trans Am. Vocals come in the form of simple refrains, chants and yelps, which seem somehow like the appropriate response to the primitive energy and joy generated by three musicians bouncing playful melodies and rhythms off each other. Throw in a bit of The Boredoms and Pere Ubu, and you’ll start to understand the fun you’ll have here. Put simply, this is part music for dancing to – and what’s wrong with that?
'Its What You Do To Me' - Hey There Delilah parody, very funny.
'ZENNAMAN'S CALL' - Global Warning
