Push-K sets are comprised of roughly one half covers and one half originals. The covers include songs by Van Morrison, Sublime, Muddy Watters, The Rolling Stones, John Prine and Nelly to name a few.
"Pushkay" is a word used by the Native/Russian people of Ninilchik, Alaska it means: That's the way it is! (It is a fatalistic epithet, something like Spanish, Que sera sera!)
Push-K is versatile popular music band based out of Anchorage with sets that include a mix of rock, blues, reggae, country and even a little Hip Hop (see next page for a sample set list). We appeal to audiences of all ages, know how to play to any crowd and get people to have a good time. Push-K sets are comprised of roughly one half covers and one half originals. The covers include songs by Van Morrison, Sublime, Muddy Watters, The Rolling Stones, John Prine and Nelly to name a few. We are a power trio with bass, drums and guitar. Ben Linford is the lead singer, song writer and guitarist. His song writing draws on a mix of genres from pop to folk with a strong blues/soul influence. The bass player, Ryan Thibault, plays a five string and can rip though a bass heavy Pantera song or sit back in pocket on Ray Charles number. He and the drummer, Jamie Rhodes who loves funk, have been playing together for years which helps make for a very tight rhythm section. From time to time Sed Charic joins us ..boards and adds whole other dimension to the band with his elite formal training and perfect pitch. The Honorary member of Push-K is Chris (Big Papa) Linford on rock'n rythm guitar.
