The essence of life is that it is a unstructured, unscripted, raw, and challenging collaboration of situations. We all go through varying events in our lives sparked by relationships, friends, jobs, and death - to all of which we become that much more stronger.
Pygar is the musical presence of those situations. We write the music to be the soundtrack of our lives. Chaotic.
We came to be by creating thought provoking, musically technical, spastic music to constantly push and punish ourselves as humans. We have been dubbed Mathcore, Tech Metal, Jazz Metal, Noisecore, and general spaz.
After a rough early beginning Pygar formed as Jeff "Preacher" Strottle(vocals), Seth the Sweat Lord(bass), Josh Erickson(guitar), and Brady Schuster(drums) and played an onslaught of shows Fall of 2006 and early 2007. Life began to suck for one member and the band went on hiatus Spring of 2007. After the hiatus writing sessions began with Josh and Brady in early 2008. After serious thought Pygar reformed and began playing shows and recording again in Fall of 2008 with the final lineup: Brandon Ricigliano (vocals), Peter Baker (bass), Brady Schuster (drums) and Josh Erickson (guitars).

ok maybe that was a bit harsh, but you all should for sure come out and hang with us before we leave for over a month. We play on Sunday at the entry and Tuesday at the Dinkytowner. Both will be fun.
