World Famous Pyrate Con has stormed the French Quarter of New Orleans for its 3rd straight year, and planning for 2010 is already in the works!
We will be invading the French Quarter once again during the weekend of April 16-18, 2010. Make plans now to join us for another amazing Pyrate Con weekend!
Pirates from around the world claimed Bourbon Street as their prize booty during the weekend of April 4-5 2009. The Bourbon Orleans section of Bourbon Street between St. Ann and Orleans was pirate central, and what an amazing weekend it was!
We kicked things off with the Pre-Pyrate Con Party on Thursday night, then broke into full swing on Friday with a days worth of piratical shopping with our Pyrate Con Vendors, live entertainment on the Bourbon O! stage, informational demos and lectures on all subjects piratical, and closed the day with The Dead Pirate Ball gala at the Tropical Isle Bar.
The Pyrate Con Stage in front of the Bourbon O! hotel showcased piratical musicians who kept the French Quarter rockin' pirate style all weekend long! A huge thank you to the infamous Pirates Charles, The Bawdy Boys, Capt'n Black's Sea Dogges, and Skip Henderson for their performances.
Also adorning the Pyrate Con stage were the Syrens of the South burlesque dancers, The Desert Rose Dancers, and the official Pyrate Con Wenches who were auctioned off for charity Saturday night following the Pyrate Con Parade. Pyrate Con is thrilled to have benefited the Greater New Orleans' First Responders Fund with a $525 donation for local police, fire and EMS services.
Saturday night featured the 3rd annual Pyrate Con Parade which trekked through the entire French Quarter this year! From St. Ann Street, to Decatur, across Canal, and finally down Bourbon Street to the doors of the Funky Pirate Bar...the French Quarter was alive and crawling with the liveliest Pirates in the nation!
The Saturday evening Bourbon Street festivities were kicked off after the parade with a rollicking sword and black powder gun battle brought to us by the Theatrical Combat Network fighters of Detroit, Michigan. The evening was rounded out with our Charity Wench Auction and live performances from The Pirates Charles, The Bawdy Boys and Capt'n Black's Sea Dogges.
Pyrate Con has drawn such a crowd over the last two years, that The Travel Channel has caught wind of our weekend long merriment! This year the Travel Channel was on hand to film the antics of Pyrate Con first hand, and we will be featured this summer on Wildest Conventions! Keep a weathered eye for it Mates!!
Mark your calendars now and make plans to join us in 2010!!

"It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth - and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up - that we begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had."
Thanks for the add. Many blessings to you with light and love. ~Namaste ~Serenity

New Orleans
A courtesan,
not old and yet no longer young,
who shuns the sunlight that the illusion of her former glory be preserved.
The mirrors in her house are dim and the frames are tarnished;a
ll her house is dim and beautiful with age....
And those whom she recieves...come to her in an eternal twilight....
New Orleans...a courtesan whose hold is strong upon the mature,
to whose charm the young must respond.
And all who leave her?
Return to her when she smiles across her languid fan....
New Orleans.
