Well the song Lost in Illusions was something I did a long time ago (I'm not too happy with it), and the drums were programmed. The other songs we actually recorded at a small studio, and he had some very nice mics :P.
Ah sweet. All my electronic stuff is done in Fruity Loops as well. I never end up bothering to do any post processing though; I just add the effects and automations I want and make sure the levels are right. Maybe try blending the miced sounds from the drums with samples as well. I find the best way to get enough attack on the bass drum for metal is to blend a sample (usually a clickier one) with the original waveform. Drumagog is a GREAT program to do that with.
