Because more than a few people have asked about my photography, I've decided put some details concerning my services here.

I am available Monday-Thursday after 5 PM. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays I am available all day. Satisfaction is guaranteed or your session will be reshot.

If my interests are eclectic, then my musical tastes are even more so. If you check back often, you might hear anything from classical to jazz to rock to Irish folk music. You just never know.

Movies
Non-pretentious flicks that have depth and originality as well as a story. Effects are nice as long as they actually have something to do with the general theme. With that said, I like creepy horror flicks (ala "Skeleton Key", "An American Haunting"), action, historical drama (ala "Braveheart", "Good Night and Good Luck"), the occasional comedy.
Television
"Bones", "Lost" and "Life"
Joss Whedon's Firefly, though short-lived, is probably the best TV show I've ever watched.
Books
I don't get nearly as much time to read as I used to, but when I do, it can be nearly anything, with an emphasis on genre fiction. Also some history, especially medievel and ancient history.
Heroes
Underdogs. To me it is the person who accomplishes something despite the fact everyone tells him/her "you can't do that".
Protectors. Anyone who has stood up to protect someone even at their own risk.
Just a warning: my blogs are getting a bit more out there. If you are easily offended, you might want to avoid them - or you might not. :-)
Okay, I send out a lot of friend requests. I also get a lot of messages asking "Who are you?"
To me, a friend request is like walking up to someone and saying hi. If I say hi to enough people, I am bound to encounter some interesting people. Maybe, in that group, there are a few who are more interesting. There may be a few people who may actually become friends. Who knows, one of them may be that one woman I've been looking for my whole life. Or maybe none of them will. But one never knows unless one makes that first approach. Hiding in the shadows certainly won't do it.
So if you've received a friend request from me, it is my way of saying "hi". If you want to know more about me, ask. I don't mind. You can send me a message or IM me if I'm on line. Just getting to know people can be an entertaining experience.
After reading my blogs, a few people have asked for my advice or my opinion on things. If you need either, just send me a message and I'll try to help. That's just the kind of person I am.

Portrait pricing is $30/hour session in Hillsdale County, $40/hour outside of Hillsdale County. If your session takes place within the cities of Hillsdale or Jonesville, only $25/hour. Glamour and model portfolio work is a straight $50/hour session.
If you are a member or officer of a non-profit and/or charitable organization that helps people or animals, contact me about arranging for a no-charge portrait session for the organization's officers and members. It is an excellent opportunity to get the photos you need for your website and other marketing materials.
I am not a weirdo (a goofball, sometimes), a freak (unless a 138 IQ qualifies), or a jerk (well, my sisters will argue that last). I am simply someone trying to earn a living and make a few friends as I make my way through this journey we call life. I am an oft busy individual, but I am always looking for new friends - people who like a good discussion or a laugh or those who intrigue me. I work a "regular" job and am doing photography on the side until I build up enough work for the business to sustain itself and me. You will find that much of this page is about my photography because - well - people keep asking about it. If you are looking for exceptional digital photography, you've come to the right person. Most of my recent photography has been table-top/stock photography (the stuff you see in ads, brochures, flyers, etc. But I have found I like working with people a great deal more. There is nothing quite like it when photographer and subject join together to create beautiful images. It is an absolute thrill to hear someone say, "oh, I love that!" or "That's awesome!" when they see the preliminary results. That is one of several reasons I am turning more toward the portrait side of the business.

As a freelance photographer, I do people and pet portraits, senior pictures, lifestyle and stock photography and more - all at a location of your choice. To me, it is just as much about creating art and seeing the faces of people when they see the results of an artist behind the camera as it is the money (hey, we all have to make a living).
