My cat, street and studio photography, film, French, music, fine dining, art galleries and museums, rock concerts or opera, classic automobiles, architecture, staying warm during long Minnesota winters; martinis, cosmopolitans and/or sidecars while hanging out with friends...
Music
Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath (the Ozzy years), Iggy Pop, Motörhead, David Bowie, Koko Taylor, Janis Joplin, Tom Petty, Willie Dixon, Johnny Cash, Tom Waits, Rob Zombie, Ramones, Steppenwolf, The Guess Who, Eurythmics, Billie Holiday, Björk, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Champion Jack Dupree, Verdi operas, Mazzy Star, Jim Reeves, The Pogues, Edith Piaf, The Beatles, Fréhel, Violent Femmes, Patsy Cline, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Lou Reed, Peggy Lee, John Lee Hooker...
Movies
Amélie, The 400 Blows, My Life to Live, Breathless, Shoot the Piano Player (just about any French film noir), Barfly, Annie Hall, The Wizard of Oz, The Royal Tenenbaums, Psycho, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Mystery Train, Sin City, The Big Lebowski (any Coen Brothers, for that matter), Kill Bill (both), Quills (Geoffrey Rush!!), Scarface, The Deer Hunter, Once Upon a Time in America, Delicatessen, Breathless, Green Snake, Hard Boiled, Pollack, Young Frankenstein... I'm all over the page with movies, but they're a passion!
Television
Why do so many people try to say they don't watch anything but PBS? Okay, I like Nova, and I watch it regularly, but I'm into the trash, too. It's a good brain relaxer and sometimes I need to shift into low gear! I love old Mary Tyler Moore episodes, Sex and the City, The Simpsons; I wish they would re-run Ren and Stimpy. I'm a game show junkie, and I've been known to spend a sickday with Springer on the set.
I don't like to watch the news. News shouldn't sound or look like a talk show.
Books
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (I'm a Tom Wolfe nut), Great Expectations, 1984, David Copperfield, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Buy the ticket; take the ride!), On the Road, The Rosy Crucifixion (Sexus, Nexus, Plexus), To Kill a Mockingbird, Leaves of Grass, The Demon Haunted World (any Carl Sagan)...
I'm trying to learn French and have muddled through L'étranger, Les misérables, L'Amérique au jour le jour, plus a few others, but the going is slooooooow.
Heroes
My Dad. I hope some of his goodness rubbed off on me.
This is a tough one... I'm pretty complex.
I love cats... and they're fond of me, too.
I'm an introvert... that doesn't mean shy.
I prefer the city to the countryside, and I hate the suburbs.
My favorite cities are New York and Paris and I miss them both.
I don't drive (never did) but own a 1951 Hudson.
I follow fashion designers, but I have my own style.
I like to travel, but with a diabetic kitty, it's difficult to leave town.
I carry a camera nearly everywhere I go.
I wear farmed fur and I eat fois gras, and I don't feel a damn bit guilty about it.
I hate so-called Health Food. Soy milk is for pussies.
I like to watch movies at home.
I'm passionate about my friends.
I fall for the wrong guys.
I'm open-minded.
I'm obsessive about learning.
I'm notoriously straightforward: no B.S., no supernatural mumbo-jumbo.
I'm a skeptic.
Who I'd like to meet: Photogenic people who aren't afraid of a lens in their face!
Since you seem to have good taste in music and live around the cities, I wanted to let you know about our show next Thursday, February 26th. We will be burning down the house at Trocaderos Nightclub in Minneapolis (107 3rd Ave N). If you've been there before, I don't have to tell you it's one of the best venues in the Twin Cities - classy atmosphere, great drinks, and the sound is always fantastic. We're gonna be recording live for a DVD, and this is definitely gonna be the coolest show we've done yet. So COME ON DOWN! The show is 18+, it starts at 9pm, and the cover is a mere $5.
Hope to see you there!
Peace, Elliot
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -Albert Einstein

Hi there and thanx for the recent add. Come out and check out our new rock group (Lexomatic Inc.) sometime. It would be good to meet you in person and I think you would enjoy the band! ~ Stu (The Bass Man)
After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves in one hand and a large fan in the other: he came trotting along in a great hurry, muttering to himself as he came, ‘Oh! the Duchess, the Duchess! Oh! won’t she be savage if I’ve kept her waiting!’ Alice felt so desperate that she was ready to ask help of any one; so, when the Rabbit came near her, she began, in a low, timid voice, ‘If you please, sir—’ The Rabbit started violently, dropped the white kid gloves and the fan, and skurried away into the darkness as hard as he could go.
Three days after Clyde returned to Dallas, Bonnie greeted her mother at the front door of her home with a surprise. "Mama I've got a job in Houston demonstrating cosmetics, I have to go down there tommorrow."
Mrs Parker leaned against the worn out screen door. "Bonnie, you don't know anything about selling face powder."
