MySpace a place for friends

While an introvert most of the time, I'm known to take center stage at unexpected (and sometimes unorthodox) times. I don't like to be around people who are so security conscious that they seem to be saving themselves for their own funeral. I like to live a little and enjoy life without keeping others from doing the same.

I love being on stage with competent musicians that enjoy what they are doing. I also get a serious boost out of forging riffs into undeniably charged tunes with musicians of different genres. I dislike soundmen who simply own some equipment and have no engineering knowledge. I've heard too many bands' sound butchered by lame hacks. I also believe that if a band wants to put on a concert, they should make it a show. I don't dig the whole 'we let our music do the talking' mindset when it comes to putting on a concert. Of course, the music has to be great, but let the crowd enjoy seeing the show, as well. There are just too many bands jumping on stage with 8 par cans and street wear paying attention to nothing more than making their songs sound just like the $30/hr recording of their second demo album. What ever happened to the judicious use of lights, flash pots, smoke, strobes, lasers.... whatever?! That's enough ranting; it seems I really need to put another band together and stop bitching from the sidelines.
