| General | Q.Burse, a Denver, Colorado native is considered one of the most innovative and progressive emcees to ever touch the stage. He has proven he can hold his own and last in the evolving world of Hip-Hop. Blessed with the talent and ability to incorporate inventive wordplay with accurate visuals, Q. knows what it takes to create music that appeals to the masses, all while staying connected to the streets. With a long history of freestyle battles and competitions including the National Black Talent Search (Denver/Winner), 100.3FM The Beat Freestyle Competitions (California/Winner), Mic Aggression MC Battle (Atlanta/Winner), MTV MC Battle 2003, Interscope Records MC Battle (Winner/aired on Showtime), Road to Stardom-Missy Elliot Project, Denver All-Star Weekend Fight Klub MC Battle, 2005 Rap Wars Finalist, and Voted 2005 Westword Best MC of Denver. It may appear that battling is his forte, but performing live is where it's at. Performing with 112, Changin’ Faces, Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz, Jungle Brovaz, Ghostface Killa and Cappadonna, Slick Rick, De La Soul, Souls of Mischief, The Militia, Pharcyde and John Legend.
With the mainstream eyes on the prize, Q still maintains home base in Denver while working with local groups such as O2P, KinTenders, and the Break Mechanics. Though his words can stand alone and are worth more than their weight in gold, the list of producers continues to add heat to the fire. Tony Dixon, Tony Morrison, Cavalear, Frosty Capone, 2G, Lord G, Likeminds, DJ Chief Rocka , Lenny Lynn, 4th Measure, Roadside Profits, RLP,Skillz,800 da Jewel, Goliath, GypdaHyp and himself. With producing under his belt it seems endless what this emcee can do. Media from around the country have interviewed and tapped into his talent, and since Hip-Hop is expanding into new markets, Q has delved into the modeling world with print advertisements for K-Mart, Gear 7 Designs, and ads in Jet magazine. As the founder of O.N.E Aristocrat ALLIANCE and the co-founder of the Denver Hip-Hop Coalition, Q is very committed to his community. When Cole School of the Arts closed its doors for good Q. performed for the last school dance. He always makes time to speak to the youth, estimate 250 middle and high school students attended the 2005 Youth Outreach Program held at Metro State University. When the issue of “Revolutionary Rappers: Where are they?” became a topic at the 2005 Pan African Film Festival, Q was a panel member.
Currently Q.Burse has six singles out, “Angela Michelle", "Don’t Knock Us", "Revolution Party", "Happiness" feat. Dilated People and Rudy Love of Sly and the Family Stone,” Long Hard Road" feat. Encore,” “What cha' Know about” feat KRS-1. From Anaheim to Atlanta with stops to Miami, up to the coast of N.Y, through Missouri and Kansas, down south to Dallas and back from Las Vegas, there's still Denver and the entire Mile High City, so ask Burse where the love is and it's apparent you'll know. The journey he's had to take to get there is long and full of empty promises from EMI, TVT Records, Interscope Records, Universal Records and the now defunct Roc-A-Fella, it proves to be longer. A true master of ceremonies, Q.Burse has all the experience, personal and business, with 30 albums of recorded material from 1996-present. Armed with complete understanding of how valuable his contributions are to the game and life itself, only one can wonder where the journey will take him next.
