I like meeting people and sharing my experiences with others. I also enjoy writing poetry but unfortunately I have not had much time for it.
I like music and have often thought of writing lyrics. At one point I bought DJ equipment and contracted by brother to spin the records so we could make money together. Unfortunately, our schedules were not meshing.
There is a person inside of us that wants to express themself and it's done with words.

My name is Naome and I was born in Alvin, Texas. My parents moved to Galveston, Texas while I was still an infant. At the age of seven-teen, while attending high school, I learned that my feelings and emotions could best be expressed by writing them on paper. My writing was reserved and meant only to rid myself of the struggles my life endured as a teenager and as a growing adult. It wasn’t until a social worker came into my troubled life, that my work was revealed and the healing process began. It wasn’t until May of 2008 that I moved from Galveston to my birthplace of Alvin to enjoy the quiet and simple life while still keeping my job at UTMB in Galveston.
I became a member of a poetry group, The Galveston Poets Roundtable that is under the leadership of Professor John Gorman. It was through their support I learned to let go. My proudest moment didn’t come until I came upon the community of poets I found on myspace.com and quickly became a member of Alabaster and Mercury, Flexwriter’s Café and Cheryl’s Pals to name a few. My work was acknowledged by my peers and published in a 2009 Calendar for S.C.R.E.A.M, a non-profit organization originating with the idea of my friend Kazzie from Australia. I was also published in the first journal of Alabaster & Mercury Vol. 1, published by Alabaster & Mercury Publications by my friend Larry Kuechlin and also in The New Poetry: In Love, published by Copeland Books UK by my friend Nicky Jones.
I continue to write in my spare time and enjoy the company and companionship of my three daughters Angela, Arianne and Sarah and adore my grandchildren Keyanna, Taliyah and DJ.

I have very little exposure to it but I'm very interested in plays, music, art and poetry and tehnology because I'm illiterate in these subject matters.
