My name is Marquez Anderson, born and raised in Northeast Baltimore. My stage name is Q-OLOGY. Q-OLOGY means the study of Q, which is my life from my birth date until this present moment. I chose this name because it is original, different, and it explains who I am. My style of music is Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop caught my attention around the age of 10, the same year I started writing. It was just something new to me, something I can feel, and something I could get with. At the age of 17, I started getting serious about making music. I found my passion and ran with it. In the past I have been through many different groups leading up to this point. The names of the groups were: Duece-Duece, The Elements, Triumph, and 4Pound. The experience of each one of these groups taught me different things about the music business that I needed to know which prepared me for this moment. The group that influenced me the most was 4Pound. 4Pound was a group which consists of 4 different personalities, including myself. As a group we did a lot of things that made me a better MC. For instance: we dropped two mixtapes on the streets, hosted Open Mic Night at Club Dior, did a lot of shows and we also did a whole lot of networking in the process so we could get connected with the right people. Some of the artists that inspired and sparked my interest in hip-hop are: A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, Naughty by Nature, Nas, 2Pac, Biggie, Common, N.W.A., and Snoop. I'm also inspired by just life itself, and living one day to the next. Every breath that I take is a blessing, so I don't take it for granted. I use my time wisely utilizing my abilities and talents. God gave me a gift that some people try to learn and do, but can't. So I'm going to use it, and not abuse it because if I do I could lose it. Motivation comes from many different angles, and I can be motivated by something someone says to me. Sometimes I may be motivated by myself, just feeding off of my own energy, or seeing someone else shine may even motivate me to step my game up. My lyrical style is based off of originality, versatility, and of course reality.
