If God is willing to prevent evil but is unable to, then He is not omnipotent. If He is able but not willing, then He is malevolent. If He is both able & willing, then whence cometh evil? If He is neither able nor willing, then why call him God?

Books
"The Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut is easily the most ingenious novel I've ever read.
Some other favorites (not all novels): "Stiff" by Mary Roach, "Spook" by Mary Roach, "Cell" by Stephen King, "World War Z" by Max Brooks, "The Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan, "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins, "The Skeptic's Dictionary" by Robert Todd Carroll, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams, "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, "The Devil's Dictionary" by Ambrose Bierce, "The Book of the Dead" by Jamie Russell, "And the Ass Saw the Angel" by Nick Cave
I'm 24 years old and live in Paint Lick, KY (just on the border of Berea). Originally I'm from Logan, WV and that is still my hometown. I've always lived in fairly rural areas and dream of living in an major city for a change, ideally somewhere like Pittsburgh.
I'm an amateur artist (key word being amateur) and am trying to get a degree and career in graphic design. My favorite type of art is pop and comic art. My favorites in the field include Dan DeCarlo, Bruce Timm, Don Bluth, Tom Bancroft, Jack Cole, Dean Yeagle, and Cully Hammer. I've had some of my graphic design work used by Simian Ratticus Films (www.simianratticus.com).
Politically, I would be considered a liberal. I don't support the war in Iraq or the marriage of religion and government that I feel coming on in this country. I am pro-choice. To me there is no reason to ban same-sex marriage because how two consenting adults choose to spend their life together is no ones' business but their own. While I am liberal I do not totally support the Democratic Party because they have become pretty cowardly when it comes to confronting the conservative administration. So I'm without a party, I guess, but you know what they say about the lesser of two evils.
I am a humanist and do not believe in God, Jesus, Thor, Quetzalcoatl, or any other deity. Humanity is in charge of bringing about their own "salvation" or "damnation" as far as I'm concerned. My moral code does not come from the ten commandments but from another guideline also mentioned in the Bible: the Golden Rule - do unto others as you would have done unto you. The only real sins in this world are those that harm your fellow man or interfere with his rights.
I am a rationalist and skeptic. Though, when I was younger, I believed (or wanted to believe) in everything from psychics to sasquatch to alien abductions. Apparently I have matured since then and see that the world is amazing enough without the need for ghosts and monsters roaming in the shadows. That doesn't mean I don't have a respect for fantasy and whimsy though. Horror and (to a lesser extent) sci-fi and fantasy are some of my passions.
I appreciate people with a good sense of humor who don't take themselves, life, or the world too seriously. A pinch of darkness doesn't hurt either. I hate pretentiousness and know-it-alls.
So there you have it, blunt as it may be; full disclosure.
Hey Craig. Hope all is well. Haven't seen you in forever. You'll have to come up and hang out some time. Katie and I just got a house the other day so we've got loads of room for you to crash.
You're right, I was wrong about digging anything other than science...
The play list is still bitchin' though.
Matt tried to buy advance tickets to the Ohio Iron Maiden show with his fan club code and got locked out by one hour (did it at five then cancelled then it got locked at six...) so we're getting them now at 10:00am tomorrow... so annoying. This all happened 'cause I was at work and couldn't get the money to him. It's all my fault and now I'll probably be bitch slapped.
If William's talking about what I think he's talking about, I agree you sumbitch, you should've went. If I'm wrong and he's talking about something else just ignore me or you can slap me in the face next time you see me.
Feel free to disregard this comment and go back to digging science.
