Welcome to Q.R. Station. The first question, of course, is What is Q.R. Station?. Q.R. Station is a concept, a group, a project - in effect, it’s a few things wrapped together. And it evolves every day. I hope you will take the journey along with Q.R. Station, as I think it will be an exciting journey.
When this project began in March 2006, it was no more than an idea. Now we are getting ready to release the first single, "Walk Next To Me," on our first album, No Standing. Please enjoy the process of exploring this site, where you will be able to play sound clips and very soon, if you desire, you will be able to purchase songs from the album. Please check the site frequently, as we plan to update it frequently with news and updates about this journey. Also check out the Q.R. Station blog.
Recently we have been asked about the name - why Q.R. Station? All we can tell you is that the more you learn about us, the more the name will make sense. But for starters, let's talk a little about the band. This project is evolving and there are already several people that have had serious influences on the project. Musically speaking, the current tracks have QR on vocals and guitar and SwingDoom on percussion and keyboards. That, too, is likely to evolve. We expect other talented musicians to be involved before No Standing is completed.
Lastly, it's important to acknowledge some very influential people that have already shaped the scope of the Station. We want to thank Rob P. for providing critical guidance in the early stages - he offered feedback on the songs almost immediately after each was written. It's not easy listening to this stuff played live over the phone. Rob patiently listened and offered much encouragement. We also want to thank our good friend FD, who has pushed us over the last few weeks to finish our first single and get it on the web. Without his prodding, our website wouldn't be up yet. And we want to thank our manager, FS, who has offered critique when it was necessary and encouragement when it was much needed.
