Short Bio

Started drumming lessons at the age of 10, in Sweden (where I was born), and picked up the basics from an elderly old-school jazz drummer. Bought a bass-guitar few years later and started slapping it together with a drummer and a keyboardist. The first band was borne (still in school age). Since then I've always been contemplating doing something musically original based on the endless flow of ideas and impressions passing my way. Even while playing in bands and doing jobs I kept on producing sounds on the side, with electronic, digital, instruments. Some of the accumulated results, after many years of pondering, I now present as Qubenzis Psy Audio.

I've been experimenting with audio and music technology and especially synthesizers since the day's of Atari computer with early Cubase, Yamaha DX7, Roland 808, Korg, EMU, Oberheim etc., also in traditional studio environment. More recently the Clavia Nord Modular has been my favorite synthesizer, opening yet another gate into the world of electronic and digital sound shaping.
Composed theater music and created environmental effects for radio stations as well as performance groups in Scandinavia.
I played live synth together with DJ's or as an effect/melody keyboard player with bands ranging from rock, funk and Celtic music to reggae and ethnic.

Qubenzis Psy Audio The style is inspired from psytrance, dark psy and other progressive electronic genres. QUBENZIS (now Psy Audio) evolved since the early 2000's and is produced by Ricky Maard.
Album, on coming is called 'Meta Dawn' and is inspired from Jaques Valles books and UFO research that suggests that E.T. is the latest in a procession of fauns, satyrs, leprechauns, incubi, and other spectral critters who have peered through the windows into our 3D reality.
Dj sessions are psychedelic and Goa trance, where I include my own music into the sets.
I also play ambient sessions presenting a voyage into a world of mind expansion and calm chill out, healing sounds that shower light and cosmic holographic information.

The original idea of InterTech Records is to build a type of "new" versatile style that could be playable in clubs and in raves as well. An hybrid style that has the rythmic, tribal feel and powerfull bassline of techno, but at a tempo range in between 130bpm to 134bpm about. With some tech-house feel and ambiance... so it's tech-house with attitude!!

Hi, Q.P.A. Everything well? I’m here with a new about my work. It’s the releasing of a remix I produced this summer for Future Shock Records. The track is featured by the female singer Birgit (an incredible voice, for my taste) and it has been a great honour for me to get the chance to work with this Estonian singer. In this case I’m presenting commercial dance music, not trance or electro-trance so I guess it’s an easy listening. Anyway, you have the right word.
