The Queen City Zapatistas are a brass band. You can find us playing parades, dances, weddings, funerals, parties, serenades, the elevator of your office building, or flatbed trucks during rush hour.
We play dance music. Vintage CBS Funk, Soul, Dirges, New Orleans style funeral marches, religious music, anthems.
We are not affiliated with the mexican revolutionary movement, though we love the sound of their name and also strive to rouse the proletariat.
We don't venerate Frank Zappa or our trumpet player who happens to share his last name.
We take ourselves very seriously.
Finally, N'awlins funk comes to Athens, OH! To my humble ears, you guys are as good as any of the funk bands that I have heard in the Cresent City itself. Can't wait to hear more!
There's nothing quite so fantastic as speed walking several miles in the rain behind a beer truck you just never seem to be able to catch. Can we do it again tomorrow? Next time we'll catch that damn beer truck!
I never thanked you guys for the Breakdown performance. With the parading, the appearing act from Eric, and the All-Star blowing, the gig was the best I've had in ages. Dan, you'd better be back in the States for next year's. Ellis and I are already thinking about tunes. As for other gigs: Book 'em Danno.

Aren't you guys playing in town soon???????? You need to get one of those nifty "myspace-cool-ass-band-calendars" - even if it does only have ONE date on it! Holla!
