Elizabeth-Anne's Interests
General
reading, tv, writing, internet, learning, making friends, trying to be a better person, playing the piano, playing the violin, singing, MARILLION, relaxing as much as humanly possible, endeavouring not to insult people accidently on the internet, being bad at spelling, surviving boring jobs, being positive, refusing to fill in these little boxes properly.
And I'm afraid I do rather like:
Hello Kitty!
Music
Marillion, (and associated stuff e.g Kino, h band; I am paying for all their retirements...), David Bowie, Fairport Convention, various folk music, especially English, good pop music (cheesy or otherwise), I'm not that good on music to be honest, but I'm learning.
Movies
Lawrence of Arabia, Withnail and I, Stealing Beauty, Stage Beauty, I Capture the Castle, Prospero's Books, The Tempest (Derek Jarman), Lolita (Adrian Lyne), Interview With the Vampire, The Last Emperor, Still Crazy, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Adrian Noble), Singin' In the Rain, It's A Wonderful Life, Notting Hill, Wilde, The Lion King, Ben-Hur, Pirates of the Caribbean, Swan Lake (Matthew Bourne),
Television
Star Trek, Lost, Rome, Doctor Who, David Attenborough documentaries, anything made with intelligence
Books
LOADS of different things, far too many to list. Modern stuff is not usually my strong point though.
Heroes
Heroes are a bad idea, everyone is flawed. Some people I admire for various and differing reasons are David Attenborough, Mark Rylance, Steve Hogarth, anyone who devotes their time to charity (because I couldn't do it), and anyone who refuses to be cynical. So there.
About me:
Shortish slightly insane, sorry, eccentric ex English student currently residing in Leicester and looking for an escape. Literate, passionate, obsessive, unapolagetic. Marillion anorak. Reality is something that you rise above.
I may vanish randomly every so often but I usually come back.
The Mariner, whose eye is bright,
Whose beard with age is hoar,
Is gone : and now the Wedding-Guest
Turned from the bridegroom's door.
He went like one that hath been stunned,
And is of sense forlorn:
A sadder and a wiser man,
He rose the morrow morn.
Who I'd like to meet: Actors/musicians/etc? I've met most of the ones I've wanted to. Still avoiding my stalking prowess are Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Paul McGann and Peter Wingfield. Plus a couple who I'm almost certainly never going to have a chance meet anyway like Gary Oldman.
As for people on this thing, I suppose that's what the profile's for.
The lost breeze kissed her bright blue eye, The bee kissed and went singing by, A sunbeam found a passage there, A gold chain round her neck so fair; As secret as the wild bee's song She lay there all the summer long. (John Clare)

THE LILLY The modest Rose puts forth a thorn: The humble Sheep, a threatening horn: while the Lilly white, shall a Love delight, Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
