QUEENMANIA A grand tribute to Freddie Mercury and the “Queen”: a gig
that has all the characteristics of a great show, set up with all the
costumes and videos of highly emotional contents which, together with
the music, run over again the most significant steps in the career of
the English band. This is the formula of the QUEENMANIA tribute band,
born of the shared passion of 4 formidable musicians for the “Queen”.
To support the voice of the singer Sonny, whose delicate task is to
revive the histrionic personality of Freddie Mercury, there will be
some valid partners in the journey. Over the guitar contribute constantly
provided by Tiziano Giampieri (guitar and voice) we find two clamorous
musicians who have given prestigious cooperation within the Italian and
European panorama (Ligabue, Vasco Rossi, Anna Oxa, Marco Masini, Enrico
Ruggeri, Exilia, Mark Harris, Glenn Hughes etc.) as Andrea Ge (drums and
voice) and Fabrizio Palermo (bass and voice). But the real surprise is
actually him, the voice: Sonny Ensabella. His will-power, his gestures
but above all his astonishing physical and vocal resemblance to the
original, give to this band un incredible added value.
A great show then, that will go through again the history and career of
one of the most famous band in the history of music, a gig to sing again
songs nowadays known to everybody but also with some special treats for
real connoisseurs, an evening to revive a character who has become a
legend and still today, fifteen years from his departure, is remembered
as one of the fathers of the fantastic world known as Rock.
Since March 2007 the Queenmania are moving their show along Europe, playing,
with positive return from audience and critics in England, Holland,
Vienna, Budapest, Spain. Being appreciated not only in Italy but also in the
most of Europe testifies their artistic value. In 2008 QUEENMANIA even attend
to "The 23rd official QUEEN FANS CLUB CONVENTION" in UK
Often in their gigs they invite successful singers of the Italian soundscape
who always, accept with enthusiasm such as the national pop stars: Enrico
Ruggeri, Andrea Mirò, Irene Fornaciari (Zucchero's daughter),from the musical
Notredame De Paris: Marco Guerzoni, Matteo Setti and from the italian rock
scene: Roby Tiranti (Labyrinth), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil),
Fabio Lione (Rhapsody Of Fire), GL & Mattia Bigi (Extrema), Kymera (X-Factor 2010).
In January 2009 was issued “All in”, the new triple cd by Enrico Ruggeri,
in which there are three songs performed by QUEENMANIA: “Dear friends”,
“Lily of the valley” and “The great pretender”, recorded live at “Alcatraz”
in Milan on 24 November 2007, during their tribute to Freddie, with Enrico
as very welcomed guest. In 2010 QUEENMANIA are guest on the best seller
compilation "Hit Mania Champions" with the song "Somebody to love" recorded
live @ Alcatraz in Milan
...and the show must go on!

ARTWORK CONTEST for Queen Tribute CD
This goes out to all you creative and productive people. As you might know, our album is currently in the final mixing process so we started to talk about what to do artwork wise. We came up with the idea of having a contest. That way all of you are able to be part of our full length CD. The procedure is simple: We’ll upload all artworks into our facebook and myspace picture section and you can go there and comment on it. The artwork with the most comments wins.
Facts:
We want you and your ideas to be as free as possible so there are only a few things you should be aware of. Please don't use the official Queen-Logo or Queen-Fotos. The record is entitled “Queen Tribute” or "A Tribute to Queen". A subtitle fitting to your artwork is optional. (Suggestions: "Crazy Little Thing Called Rock", Anotherone Rides The Bus", "Gunpowder Gelatine")
Please make sure to meet the specs so that there won’t be any problems with it. Of course we reserve the right to not upload jokey or offensive artworks.
What’s in there for you as a designer?
First of all it’s all about the fame, but for those of you who need a little persuasion, here is what’s planned.
- Your artwork will be used for the final record, that you’ll get one of for free, when it’s done and in sale
- Massive promotion for you and your work. We’d love to give your name and your website on all record-related locations.
- If possible, we are going to print some fancy shirts with your artwork. Of course you’ll get one of these for free
So please tell everyone you know who might be interested in taking part about the contest.

ARTWORK CONTEST für Queen Tribute CD
Das richtet sich an all die kreativen und produktiven Köpfe unter Euch: Wie Ihr vielleicht wisst, werden gerade die letzten Handgriffe an unserem Album getan und so mussten wir uns Gedanken über das Artwork der Platte machen. Also kam die Idee, einen Wettbewerb auszurufen auf. Auf diese Weise könnt Ihr alle ein Teil unseres Tribute-Album sein. Der Ablauf ist einfach: Wir werden alle eingesendeten Vorschläge in die Bilder-Sektion unserer Facebook- und MySpace-Seite laden und Ihr könnt dann hingehen und Euren Favoriten kommentieren. Das Artwork mit den meisten Kommentaren gewinnt.
Die Fakten:
Wir möchten Euch und Eure Ideen so uneingeschränkt wie möglich haben, so dass es nur ein paar Kleinigkeiten zu beachten gibt. Bitte verwendet keine Original Queen-Fotos oder das Originallogo. Der Albumtitel lautet "Queen Tribute" oder "A Tribute to Queen", ihr könnt aber zusätzlichen einen passenden Titel zu eurem Artwork unterbringen. In erster Linie geht es natürlich nur um Ruhm und Ehre, aber für alle, die ein wenig Überzeugung brauchen, ist hier unser Plan:
- Dein Artwork wird die fertige Platte zieren und Du bekommst natürlich eines der ersten Exemplare, sobald es fertig ist.
- Massive Werbung für dich und deine Arbeit. Wir werden selbstverständlich deinen Namen und deine Website auf alles drucken, was mit der Platte zu tun hat.
- Wenn es möglich ist, drucken wir natürlich auch ein hübsches Merchandise (T-Shirt/Plakate) mit deinem Design, wovon Du dann auch das erste haben sollst.
Erzählt also bitte jedem, den es interessieren könnte von diesem Contest.

Vanexa were one of the first Italian heavy metal band, their self-titled LP was consecrated by the national press as the first italian heavy metal album. Born in Savona in 1978, their sound was typically Anglo-Saxon evidence abroad where they were cited by several magazines as proponents of the new wave of heavy metal
band from late '70s early '80s. They also participated as a headliner at the first heavy metal festival held in Certaldo Italian in Florence May 21, 1983. In their careers have also participated in various compilations including metal of Metal Mountain, exit the United States, with the song "Hanged Man" and Metal Italy with the song "It's Over". In 2007 a CD reissue of their eponymous debut album with 3 bonus tracks and unreleased second album "Back From The Ruins" with 5 bonus tracks taken from a live concert of 1984 was released in 2010 is out "1979-80" a compilation of early material ( totally sung in italian) released on vynil and cd supports. We needed a new fresh band with a new fresh sound. VANEXA spearheaded what was termed 'the new wave of heavy metal'. They were a more than welcome addition of the italian hard rock/metal scene. Yet, this debut offering offers more energy and speed than actual accomplishment. In 1983 VANEXA released their self-titled debut album, starting what would become a legendary career for the band. They were one of many promising bands in the New Wave of Heavy Metal movement at the time. Following the success of Vanexa, the band released released their second album Back From The Ruins in 1988. The album featured fan-favourites "Midnight Wolves", "Creation", "Hanged Man". This new album contained many tracks that had been written prior to the release of the debut album, but were considered surplus. With songs already shaped on the road well in advance, only two new tracks were written for the album; Hanged Man and Creation. The band adopted a different approach for their 1994 studio album, titled Against The Sun. This was not a concept album, though it was themed loosely around the idea of social problems. It featured, for the first time in the band's history, synthesized Keyboards and guitars sounds to add textures and layers to the sound. Though considered different from the norm of Vanexa sounds, it a good response across the world, especially for new incredible voice of Roberto TIRANTI. The VANEXA lyrics contains literature quotes about famous books/movies or social problems fusioned in great heavy metal sound.
