About me:
"I'm still not to be had for the price of a cocktail--like a salted peanut"
Born of frustration with the KOP area (generic retail commercial corporate chain suburban wasteland) a group of sassy gals declared, "This is no place for a queen!" and decided to band together in search of a better quality social and cultural life for themselves and their like-minded pals.
Thus dubbed the Queens of Prussia, these lively ladies celebrate cameraderie, not cat fights. They have neither gone wild nor do they wear red hats.
Inspired by the glamour of yesteryear they'd rather sip cocktails at swanky nightspots or even a hidden dive, than be caught swigging lite beers at a sports bar.
They declare the cocktail to be queen! The hostesss to be the mostess! And every event they grace with their presence noteably improved!
They venture to places from highbrow to kitschy- to encourage life outside of the shackles of suburbia and celebrate the creative endeavors of their fellow Queens and causes they admire.
They know that happiness happens at home as well, and celebrate the art of hostessing, spreading the joys of vintage serveware and recipes.
While the group is currently a small social society of selected individuals, the Queens welcome ladies -and gents-to attend the more public gatherings posted on our calendar.
Tonight I drank a 'Watermelon Mojito' at a work b-day bash. The drink (not the event, exactly) was a little too "Big Rock Jolly Rancher Mountain" for me. Just thought I'd share;)
spent nat'l cocktail day splitting a bottle of wine with the husband.
a memorable moment was when cooper jumped up onto the futon, and the bone he was carrying hit the bottom of jon's wine glass and broke it right off the stem!
i'm happy to report that both husband and puppy are okay.
Pear Cider at the Echo Lounge while we watched some country/roots bands...
Caipirinhas at Bossa Nova...tasty!
and to cap things off, a wonderful Mai Tai at the Good Luck- one of my favorite hangs here. They even have the Theme from Valley of the Dolls on the jukebox!
Thank you for a lovely evening ladies!
Everything from the decor, to the food and drink, to the company, to the hostess, to the parting gift was just fabulous!
Yes that CP outdid herself and set the bar so high! I figure if I start planning my event now, I can be ready for the holidays. I believe we DID discuss Christmas Sputnik, yes?
My only regret was getting there so late: damn you single parent-dome, traffic, and a car that can't go above 50! ; )
Okay, I'm headed off to the video store to rent one of those fabulous films!! Thanks again, CP!!
