Bash Back! is ecstatic to announce a national radical queer
convergence to take place in Chicago, May 28th through May 31st of 2009!
We’re pleased to invite all radical queers to join us for a weekend of
debauchery and mischief. The last weekend of May will prove to be four solid days of workshops, discussions, performances, games, dancing and street action!
We’ll handle the food and the housing. Ya’ll bring the orgy, riot,
and decadence!
We’re looking for folks to facilitate discussions, put on workshops, organize caucuses, share games, tell stories, get heavy in some theory, or bottom-line a dance party. More specifically we’re looking for workshops themed around queer and trans liberation, anti-racism, confronting patriarchy, sex work, ableism, self defense, DIY mental and sexual health, radical history, pornography, or queer theory.
We are also looking for copious amounts of glitter, safer sex products, zines, home-made sex toys, balaclavas, pink and black flags, sequins, bondage gear, rad porn, flowers, strap-ons, and assorted dumpstered goodies.

1) VOLUNTEERS…We, True Skool, are piloting a new program this summer called Adopt a Community, where we are adopting Cesar Chavez Drive from June-September this year to offer a number of free services to the businesses and residents in the area along with repainting the mural on 16th & Washington. We need volunteers for the July 10th Kick Off, we will be doing a large community clean up, we will start production of the mural and hold a mini-block party that day w/Vitamin Water and local DJs.
a. If you are interested in volunteering, please check out the flyer attached for the community meeting next Wednesday at the Latino Community Center from 6-7pm. If you are unable to attend and still want to help out, please contact me ASAP to see where and when you would like to volunteer.
2) CLASSES… Sarah Patterson is running the Summer CLC program for the Latino Community Center this summer at South Division High School. We are doing a lot of TRUE Skool’s classes and activities there. The program starts June 22nd and runs until July 31st for high school age youth. It is FREE and runs Monday-Friday 12-5pm. We will offer DJ classes, Street/Graffiti Art & Mural Production (we are painting two mural on the outside entrance of South), Spoken Word/Art of MC classes and more. If interested stop by South Division High School or the Latino Community Center to fill out a registration form and reserve your spot. It will be an incredibly FUN summer!

Queers Against Capitalism! Trannies for Tumultuousness!! Bash Back! against corporate power and mindless consumerism. Assimilationist, capitalist politics are not looking out for the interests of queer and trans folx. Reject economic oppression and celebrate real alternatives to hetero-normative capitalism. On Monday August 25th of the DNC the streets of Denver are going to get queered up!Radical queer and trans folx will crash the parties and fundraisers to demand no business as usual. The Democrats (straight and gay) will be out on the town to bask in the glory of their mainstream politics and corporate sponsorships. We too will be out on the town. Maybe we'll feel like checking out where the Stonewall democrats are partying.. Or maybe we'll visit the HRC's corporate donors.. Where ever we end up, we're gonna smash their spectacle. Show the dems what a real party looks like (one where you don't need $1000 to get in the door)! Wear your pink and black & your cutest capitalism-smashing shoes. Make anti-capitalist banners, noise makers, music and whatever else you can imagine will be useful to smash the spectacle of corporate queerwashing. Interested parties will gather at 6pm at civic center park. Look for the spritely elves in orange bandanas who will be giving out top-secret information on a couple of the choicest fundraisers and parties in Denver. Most of these parties will be starting after 9 or 10pm, so that gives folks a chance to chill for a few hours, finalize their plans, dress for success, and mingle with the crowd. Or folks can play some of the fun direct action games we'll have set up from 6-8 that night, to get some last-minute training before going into action. When they least expect it, at the appointed time monday night, we'll emerge from the shadows in downtown and get down and dirty. What surprises and successes will the night hold? That depends on YOU and what you bring to it!!!

Description: Anarchism has a bad rap. There are so many myths and negative assumptions about anarchists floating around that to wade through them all would turn anyone into a creature from the black and red lagoon. Which is why we’re devoting a whole issue to our stories from the silly to the poignant, from the hilahrious to the just fucked. We want everyone and their granny anarchy to write in a short little story that presents the real side of anarchists, whatever that may be. Don’t pull your punches though, no one’s selling anything, we want the truth and nothing but the truth. We are particularly interested in getting some good old punk house stories or stories about all the crazy anarchist co-op shit that goes down but we are equally interested in the personal side of things, the tears behind the sunglasses, so to speak. Honestly, it can even be made up if necessary, fuck the truth, in fact a bed-time story or two wouldn’t hurt anyone. We know you have your stories, and you have a full month, so make it work!
ps. We’re still looking for anarchist erotic stories, do anarchists even have sex anymore?
