Born in 1979, Ana Queirós is a portuguese pianist with an intense performing activity.
Ana started her musical studies at the age of 6 at the Academia de Viana do Castelo. Later on, she studied with José Alexandre Reis at the Centro de Cultura Musical, Caldas da Saúde.
After getting her Bachelor's degree at Escola Superior de Música do Porto (ESMAE) where she studied with portuguese pianist Pedro Burmester, Ana went to Manhattan, NY, as a scholarship student, to work with Mr. Solomon Mikowsky at the Manhattan School of Music, obtaining the Master of Music in Piano Performance Diploma.
She also studied in Madrid with Galina Egyazarova.
She attended Masterclasses by some of the best pianists and teachers in the world, such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Vitaly Margulis, Pierre Reach, Vladimir Viardo, Dimitri Bashkirov, Joell Bello Soares and Charles Spencer, among others, in Portugal, Germany and Spain.
Awarded in national and international competitions, she performs regulary in both solo and chamber music recitals in Portugal (Centro Cultural de Belém, Casa da Música, Museu da Música Portuguesa, Findação Cupertino de Miranda, Fundação Eng. António de Almeida, Calouste Gunlbenkian Foundation, Serralves Foundation, etc, Spain (Vigo, Barcelona, Coruña, Orense Tuy), USA (Manhattan), Germany, Brazil (Belém do Pará, São Paulo, Vitória) and Mozambique.
Ana Queirós has been broadcasted by Rádio Brasília.
She has played with ARTAVE, EPMVC and APROARTE orchestras under the guidance of the conductors António Saiote, Vasco Pearce de Azevedo, Ernst Schell and Kevin Waldron.
Her "musical partners" include several musiciens with an intense international musical activity: Evandra Gonçalves (violin) and Jean-François Lézé (percussionist and composer) are among them.
Evandra Gonçalves and Ana Queirós play as a Duo since 2002, with an extense repertoire and giving special attention to portuguese works and composers (www.myspace.com/doppioensemble).
