About me:
Myspace Layouts, Myspace Graphics, Codes I got my layout at Cleanupmyspace.com A brief history of Queslett In the summer of 2000 a small group of school leavers decided that the best way to keep in contact with each other as they got older would be to set up their own football team. With bags of enthusiasm but no real clue as to go about this, they went about seeking the help of the two men who they knew would do the best job of leading this adventure. As the best two men for the job and seemingly everybody else were not available, our plucky young group had to settle for Peter Cross and the enigmatic Richard Gill instead. Haha. After a brief tactical discussion (probably involving numerous bottles of wine) the management team enrolled the newly christened Queslett F.C into the Coronation and Alliance League and organised pre-season training. Having probably never heard of the phrase “too many cooks spoil the broth” they decided that they needed another pair of shoulders to help carry the burden of training and with Satan being booked up, they opted for the next best thing. Frank Hall, a former semi-professional footballer who had ambitions of becoming a coach, was enlisted. Frank wasted no time in laying the foundations for what would become the most notoriously rigorous training schedule in the history of Sunday football. It gets harder every year and has reduced many who thought they were fit to a trembling vomit spewing mess. Whoever Frank had not killed with his methods were soon in good shape and Queslett began their first season in open age football, wearing a second hand bright orange kit and calling the pitches at Hilltop Golf Course our home. As a bunch of fresh faced and inexperienced young chaps we were its fair to say, like lambs to the slaughter, winning only two games, getting kicked to pieces and finishing second from bottom. As the lads had undoubted potential talent and the spine of the team was as enthusiastic as ever, the management decided to continue into our second season. Richard Gill disappointingly stepped out of the picture, leaving the club in the capable hands of Pete and Frank. Another year meant that a new crop of players had come of age. This coupled with the interest that the club had gained from word of mouth, ensured that there was a healthy number of players present when pre-season commenced (numbers soon dwindled after Frank got the running started……). Some of this second year influx still makes up the spine of the current team and, like the remaining original lads, have grown up with the club. The management also took the decision to move from Hilltop to Perry Hall Park, sacrificing our precious changing rooms for a superior quality pitch. The second season saw more of the lad’s parents becoming heavily involved with the club, and the eventual formation of the management committee, which exists to this day. The commitment that Paul and Sue Espley and Warwick Wakefield along with the dedication that Pete’s wife Andrea have given the club has been invaluable. Both on and off the field the club has made fantastic strides forward over the last six years and shows no signs of slowing up. At the start of last season we moved to Moor Lane, ensuring quality facilities including changing rooms and showers (at last!!!), now have a fantastic brand new Nike kit and the sort of training apparatus that the army would be proud of. We had probably our best ever season last year in terms of performance and deserved some silverware to show for it. It is a testament to all of the committee, but especially Frank and Pete that Queslett has come so far. Up the Queslett.

Lads

Some of you need to read the rules on the website, £20 registration is required each season and £3 per match £1.50 for subs. If you do not settle your debts and have not spoken to me Pete or a committee member you may not be able to play as stated in the rules

Please sort it out I dont like to have to nag but it is not fair on the ones that do pay.

Thanks Andy
