Heroes
My parents, of course, which I say not because people are supposed to but because I realize more every day what an impact they've had and still have on my life. My grandparents, too, God rest their souls.
Mr. Anderson, my high school drafting teacher, for all the guidance.
Gene Simmons, for telling people it's okay to be what you want, even if it's an asshole, and being one of the world's shrewdest businessmen at the same time.
And Stan Lee for writing all of those cool comics in the 60's that inspired me to write.
And George Lucas, who inspired just about everybody.
And I guess columnists and commentators like Mitch Albom, Leonard Pitts, and Peter Werbe, who speak from the heart and the gut, pulling no punches but taking a few in return.

About me: What about me? Well, let's do this The Wheel of Fortune way:
By day, I'm a degreed engineer / project manager at a huge electronics / software company. In my spare time I do freelance writing about comic books and other things. I have no children except a furry one who barks a lot, and my mother's sitting in the audience. Hi Mom!
Also check out my monthly Comics Buyer's Guide feature Obligatory Fight Scene that I co-headline with John Petty. No web presence there, sorry; you'll have to buy the magazine.
Life's good times and good people:
And here are some old concert photos I took back during the '80s:
And speaking of concert pics, I took these when Trans-Siberian Orchestra's tour brought them to The Palace of Auburn Hills:
And speaking of TSO, here they are performing Old City Bar at their last stop at The Palace of Auburn Hills. I recorded this from the 2nd row:
And speaking of Christmas, here's a video featuring the greatest movie Tim Burton ever made set to the greatest song Duran Duran ever made:
And speaking of great movies, here's a great video of Fiona Apple covering an awesome Beatles song from the soundtrack of the incredible movie Pleasantville:
Who I'd like to meet: Just about anyone who wants to share interests, personal or professional, who's not a sleaze, con-artist, gold-digger, crook, or alien being looking to take control of my mind and infiltrate society.

You are mild-mannered, good, strong and you love to help others.
I CAN'T FOOL MYSELF. I DON'T WANT NOBODY ELSE TO EVER LOVE ME. YOU ARE MY SHINING STAR, MY GUIDING LIGHT, MY LOVE FANTASY. THERE'S NOT A MINUTE, HOUR, DAY OR NIGHT THAT I DON'T LOVE YOU. YOU'RE AT THE TOP OF MY LIST 'CUZ I'M ALWAYS THINKING OF YOU. I STILL REMEMBER IN THE DAYS WHEN I WAS SCARED TO TOUCH YOU. HOW I'D SPEND MY DAY DREAMING, PLANNING HOW TO SAY I LOVE YOU. YOU MUST HAVE KNOWN THAT I HAD FEELINGS DEEP ENOUGH TO SWIM IN. THAT'S WHEN YOU OPENED UP YOUR HEART AND YOU TOLD ME TO COME ON. OH, MY LOVE. A THOUSAND KISSES FROM YOU IS NEVER TOO MUCH. A MILLION DAYS IN YOUR ARMS IS NEVER TOO MUCH. . . . THOSE WORDS ARE LYRICS TO A SONG BY LUTHER VANDROSS. THE SONG IS ON THE CD I MADE YOU FOR CHRISTMAS. BUT YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNEW THAT. . . . I LOVE YOU, BABE.
Merry Christmas, Darling. We're apart, that's true. But I can dream and in my dreams, I'm Christmasing with you. Holidays are joyful There's always something new. But every day's a holiday When I'm near to you.
Awwww JIm.. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your girl... She gave you so much happiness, and you in turn loved her unconditionally. Aren't pets a wonderful gift. My thoughts are with you as you mourn her passing.
