About Quicksand

Quicksand is a maltese band formed in the summer of 2007. Most of its band members have been playing together for many years and apart from being musicians they are primarily friends in search of some good tunes and sounds. Eventually, the first project undertaken by the band was the participation in the KDZ World Youth Day 2008 contest held in December 2007. Quicksand won the contest with the newly composed song 'Hu Maghna llum'. Apart from being the Maltese World Youth Day 2008 song, 'Hu Maghna llum' has also been chosen to be the theme song for the Maltese Pentecost celebrations for 2008. The band has also recorded a number of instrumentals primarily made up of guitar driven melodies and acoustic guitar riffs. All the songs by quicksand to date have been recorded and mixed in the band's own studio.
