Quiet Child are a four piece alternative rock band from Adelaide who are steadily cementing their place in the local scene and pushing the boundaries of the 'musician's band' notion that has catagorized so much of the up and coming progressive rock sounds.
Their music ranges from two minute blasts of furious riff filled rock, to long, grandiose epics propelled by major dynamic shifts and melodic and rhythmic complexities.
In October 2007 their first single Was Immer was featured in Australia's BLUNT Magazine as part of the Loud Noises Compilation along with such names as Cog and Atreyu.
'Was Immer' has also received airplay on Triple J's Home and Hosed.
In late 2007 and early 2008 their second track Underage and Well Behaved was featured on Triple J Unearthed and JTV Unearthed before earning the band a place on the 2008 Big Day Out by winning Triple J Unearthed. Quiet Child also appeared as a Featured Artist on Unearthed in January 2008 with an exclusive interview from Pete.
In 2008 alone, Quiet Child have shared the stage with some great Aussie heavyweights including The Butterfly Effect, Cog, Dead Letter Circus, Mammal, Bushido, Sleep Parade and Laura.
"Quiet Child is a force to be reckoned with and if there’s a local band worthy of your support, this is the one."
Rob Lyon - Journalist for 'Rip It Up Magazine' - February 2007
"The atmosphere created by the intricate sounds of Quiet Child made me never want to leave the wonderful place in my head they led me to."
Talia Lomman - Journalist for 'dB Magazine' - March 2007
"Busy Streets is awesome, exhilarating and an epic beyond all proportions..."
Bobby Tyger - 'Faster louder' - May 2007
"A lot of heavy music doesn’t have much else going for it. It’s loud, it’s brutal, but that’s about it. Quiet Child bring something more to the table: killer vocal melodies and catchy guitar parts. There’s a great energy to this track; I’m sure it’ll sound hot when they play it live at the Adelaide Big Day Out."
Vijay Khurana - presenter for Triple J Radio- Review of, 'Underage and Well Behaved.' - 10 January 2008
"This is a wild trip. It's got a bit of freaky QOTSA riffing going on in the breakdown, some beefy Soundgarden vocals in the chorus, and a little dose of Maiden metal in the guitar licks."
Richard Kingsmill - Music Director for Triple J Radio - Review of, 'Underage and Well Behaved.' - 30 January 2008
"...Quiet Child are one of those rare chosen few where you can totally suspend your disbelief and simply drift along to it, no matter what's happening around you. Even if they were playing in a blackout whilst the room was slowly filling with water; we'd still be blissed out like serene stoners to an episode of Spongebob Squarepants..."

DRUM CLINIC featuring; Dean Butterworth, session drummer and current member of Good Charlotte. Wednesday November 4th Adelaide Hq Complex $15 - 7pm THE DRUM SHOP DERRINGERS
Hey, J. The album sounds great. I'm sitting on it right now. I had to push back my release plans because i took another gigging contract over in the middle east again (I'm in Oman right now) But it's kinda nice. It's given me time to boost my youtube PR and promote the release a bit more (And gives me time to actually figure out what to DO with this album :P) I think you're going to like it. I'm very happy with it. I found a great pair of engineers/producers to work with :)
So yeah, the new year sounds good to me, buddy. Lets share some stages :)
I can't believe that I've waited till now to tell you guys that the gig you guys did on the 4th of Sept at the Jade Monkeh (yes I know I spelt that incorrectly) was AWESOME.
Too short for my and Peter's tastes, BUT STILL AWESOME.
And yes, you guys ARE very nice. It took 4 different people to tell me that a total of 6 times before I realised it. And one of those people and times was Brent. Nice, way to go praising yourself! (not being sarcastic)
Can't wait to catch you guys again the next time I'm back in Adelaide. I'm still kinda pissy that I only heard about you guys when I got back to Singapore, but oh well, thems the breaks. Oh yeah, sorry for being such a geek and asking for autographs and pictures. I didn't know what else to say and do really. =b
Hi, check out our new Demo's Flying Machine and Charlie, We're putting on our own night at the Grove opposite the Tube in South Wimbledon this Friday (16th Oct). hope you can make it.
The Drum Shop Derringers Music is happy to announce that we have secured, Dave Lombardo to perform and talk about his craft. In a intermit setting the legendary drummer for Slayer will be your host for the afternoon.
The drum clinic details are Sunday the 11th of Oct 4pm @ the HQ complex. There is only limited space so be sure get your tickets quick.
I'm going to be VERY self centered and ask, didja get the date serendipitously, or did you make that date cause of that intensely selfish message I sent you?
Hahaha.. I'M SO THERE! And my mate that got me into you, I'm draggin him along! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!
