QUIET JACK is a Philadelphia-based original rock band founded in 2005 by songwriter Justin King. The band combines organic rock with altered blues, jazz concepts and atmospheric soundscapes; often adding heavy doses of improvisation during shows.

In July of 2007, QUIET JACK released their 2nd EP, "Via", with drummer Jim LeFager. Basic tracking for Via was recorded at Turtle Studios in Philadelphia with engineer Jeff Hiatt. From there, the band worked overdubs at various locations until the final takes were ready for mixing. The final songs were taken back into Turtle, mixed by Jeff, then sent to Maja Audio to be mastered.

After Jim’s amicable departure from the band, QJ began creating new music with long-time friend and drummer Mike Lang who had moved to Philadelphia in August. Justin and Mike were bandmates in numerous projects during their undergrad experience at Syracuse University. It only took one show with Mike to illustrate the new direction the band is now heading... higher energy, heavier beats, and a more natural approach to the sound.

In March of 2008, Ty Cooke left the group to pursue a career in Psychology. Rather than rush to find a replacement, the remaining members decided it was high time to make another studio recording. Currently, basic tracking is underway at Dave Park’s home studio in Secane PA. An experimental vibe is already in the air and in the arrangements.. the Spring sunshine only makes it better. No deadline has been set, but a full release is in the works.
