Quimera (pronounced ki-me-rah) began singing in childhood, but it was not until the summer of 2007 that she began to pursue her professional music career and defining her own style. By the end of 2008 Quimera's voice matured, and her Mezzo-Soprano / Contra-Alto tessitura range lead her music style to mature as well. Quimera began to create the specific kind and quality of music and vocals that she had been aiming for, since the onset of her professional career.

With the release of her songs Face To Face, Pray and Starlight, Quimera Music began to receive media and fans attention, being hailed as "The new sound the music industry is looking for", "Hypnotic", "Unforgettable" and "Epic."

In November 2009, Quimera was signed with Twilight Records, beginning a new era in her career.

Quimera Music's song Pray will be the first of her songs to be featured in a film's soundtrack, an American suspense tale called Return To Babylon, starring Jeniffer Tilly and Maria Conchita Alonso, amongst others.

Quimera is proud to be a spokesperson and supporter of the global children charity The Smile Train. In May 2009 her song When Tomorrow Comes released worldwide; When Tomorrow Comes was written for, and to benefit the children of The Smile Train charity.

Quimera has established her recognizable sound, which she describes as a "Symphonic integration of Classical-Baroque, Gothic, and Cinematic Melodies" interlaced with Quimera's unmistakable velvety voice.

Quimera reaches her audience deep in their hearts with her, sometimes warm and soft, sometimes aggressive and moving voice. No matter if she is singing live or in one of her recorded songs, her haunting and awe inspiring vocals and lyrics create special worlds to lose ourselves for a while.

Undoubtedly, Quimera has mastered the art of being powerful and sublime at the same time.

The songs being previewed here are part of Quimera's highly anticipated debut album titled Love And Madness which released everywhere November 24th 2009.

I sing and write what moves my spirit, the type of music that I would like to listen to; I never record a song just to record a song. I am an original, involved in every detail of each song from its inception, hence every new song is a part of me.

Music is the voice of the human spirit. It can go beyond language, beyond age, beyond nationality, and beyond color, straight to the mind and heart of each one of us. Music to me is like the air I breathe, like a spiritual experience.

I believe that music should provoke exaltation, so my goal is to make music and write lyrics that speak in that universal language that touches peoples lives, long after the song is over.
